Geno's Steaks Reviews
I was in Philly on Wednesday for a birthday celebration with free pizza, spaghetti and cannolies. Since we don't frequent Philly and Genos is right down the street we had to get 2 Philly cheese steaks to go! What a disappointment! I expected real steak and not STEAK UMS, a scant amount to boot! Slim pickings to say the least. In addition we paid $36.00 for 2 sandwiches! To say the least we should have gone to Pat's.
The food is is not good and somehow has become a tourist trap and gives cheesesteaks a bad name in Philly
We were so excited to try this place and so disappointed that we did. The sandwich had very little meat. It was basically all bread and the meat on the sandwich was flavorless. The fries were okay. I ended up ripping off half of the bread just to try to even out the bread to meat ratio. Probably the worst cheesesteak I've ever had. Unfortunately, we will not be back. Staff was great and very energetic. Arcade was fun.

Geno's Steaks in South Philly is a legendary landmark that draws tourists and locals alike. The cheesesteaks, made right in front of you, are a must-try, especially the classic "Whiz Without". The thin sliced steak, melty cheese, and soft roll create a flavorful experience. Don't forget to grab some cheese fries from the separate window, and help yourself to free toppings like cherry peppers, relish, ketchup, and mustard. The atmosphere is bustling, with a wall adorned with police patches, paying tribute to everyday heroes. While the experience may vary, Geno's Steaks overall lives up to its reputation as a taste of Philly history and a cheesesteak destination worth revisiting.
