Ursa bread is fantastic. Since the pandemic when we were incredibly lucky to have this bread delivered to our door to now it has been consistently wonderful bread baked with love. I go to the farmers markets specifically for this bread. Philadelphia has a number of great new small bakeries but Ursa is at the top!
Claire Kopp McWilliams is more than a baker of amazing breads, she's an artist who cares passionately about her products. Ursa Bakery's breads are rustic, chewy, flavor-packed--with a bowl of soup you've got a stick-to-your-ribs meal. Plus her grains are locally sourced and her loaves are a couple blocks away every Thursday at my local farmers' market. This is my favorite bread in the city, I feel so lucky that they come to my local farmer’s market each week. Every variety I’ve tried is so delicious and unique and I appreciate their use of PA grains.
