Mario's East End Saloon Reviews
Went to Mario’s during Shadyside Arts Festivsal on 8/24/2026. Was not overly crowded. Waited over an hour for our food at which time the server came out and advised us “ kitchen lost our order slip.” No apology from the manager who didn’t even come out!!!! No offer for a free meal or anything else. First and last time I will go there!!!!i
The owners of this restaurant employee a Nazi at their south location. This will never be okay.
We hadn't been there in a while. We stopped in for something to drink. I had a Guinness (or two).
My wife got a Corona; however they put a "chunk" of lime that wouldn't fit through. So she walked up to the bar and asked for a properly sliced piece of lime. The bartender responded; that's the way we cut our lime. LAME !
Nobody gives "chunks" of lime for a Corona. They trimed her by then squished piece of lime to fit.

Mario's East End Saloon is a fun place with a relaxed environment, good vibes, and good music. The crowd is young, with many students from nearby universities. It is a great Bills backer bar. The bar has a good selection with great drink specials, including Yuengling for 2.75 per pint and Bells Two Hearted for around 3.50 a pint. The food is the best bar food in the area of Shadyside, and maybe even Pittsburgh. Burgers are excellent, with the spicy burger having perfect spice. The fries are really good. The pizza is thin and fresh and crispy, and the appetizers are fresh and filling. Service can be inconsistent; some servers like Tia are absolutely amazing and excellent, while other servers have been known to ignore guests entirely. The atmosphere is fun, and the location is heated. It is a good place to drop in without a fuss for a night out.
