Add to that their amazing sardines so fresh and good. Pasta Funghi another high. Exquisite detail to taste in every dish. The owners go way out of their way to make you feel welcomed and happy and very satisfied. “We decided to celebrate our 35th wedding anniversary at Eddie V's. We had dined there before and enjoyed the experience. When we got to our table, it was beautifully decorated with rose petals and had an anniversary card for us. This was such an unexpected, special touch. We started our meal with the wedge/bacon salad and decided to share it. It was garnished with well-done bacon strips and the dressing was freshly made. We both had seafood choices for our entrees - the jumbo shrimp stuffed with seafood and scallops with polenta. The seafood was fresh, tasty, and beautifully prepared. We had the Russian River chardonnay to accompany the entrees. The surprise was the dessert complimentary by the restaurant. It was bananas Foster, 2 chocolate cookies, and a dollop of ice cream. Our server, Leidi (spelling?) was great. She lit the bananas Foster and truly made the dinner have a dramatic and very tasty ending. The restaurant manager, Christine, came over to chat with us and ask us about our dinner. The restaurant is nicely appointed and the seating is not crowded. Valet parking on Oliver Street is convenient. You can go from car to restaurant and not have to carry a coat. We will return and so glad we celebrated our anniversary at Eddie V's!“

Went on Saturday morning and it was so impressive we said “We’re coming back tomorrow before we leave!” Only to return Sunday morning and they had standing room only! Sadly my party and I were just going to head back to Indiana, hungry when they called us back in and said”We’re going to make room for you all up top.” They proceeded to prepare another area upstairs to accommodate our party! We just moved to Pittsburgh and were looking for our go-to sub place and Peppi’s was recommended multiple times. Toi ensured that my food came out correctly and didn’t make it seem like I was asking for too much (unlike serves in the past)! Now that’s GREAT service! Elijah was very attentive and always happy to meet my toddlers many requests 😅 Also would like to add that even though they were super busy, it took them less than 10 minutes to get us seated and the food didn’t take long to come out at all. All the food was hot and fresh, even the strawberries were freshly cut. We will definitely be spending many more breakfast and lunch dates here!“

“My husband and I came for our somewhat late 9:45p reservation, after a holiday Pgh Symphony concert on Friday, November 28. We've been to Capital Grill many times. I didn't tell our server, until he brought our drinks, that it was our wedding anniversary. He said with a big smile, “why didn't you tell me?”. (I'm pretty low key.). He rushed off and came back to our table with an anniversary card, confetti for the table and two red roses. Much to our delight! We ordered our usual meal, sharing a few dishes, especially the filet with fig sauce and onions, always yummy!! 👍 Since it was late, we were going to skip dessert. Well, our server shows up with a “Happy Anniversary” dessert plate, with a little flourless chocolate cake and a little cheesecake, very nicely presented. I have a foodservice background...and I was impressed by our servers' charm and quick response, even at a late hour. We weren't rushed and several other staff wished us well. So, that's why we keep returning to this Capital Grill. The staff is always warm, friendly and lively. The food is great...and we try different dishes. A curious interaction with the customer next to me resulted in some laughs with the bartender and genuine recommendations for more, let’s say, “atmospheric” bars to check out in town. So if you need a good jumping off point downtown or a date spot for a society gal I would say this is the place.“
