I really appreciate how the team acknowledges customers, greets them, and lets them know they will be helped shortly. That shows great communication and respect for the customers. The lobby and bathrooms are always very clean, the food is fresh and hot, and they are always willing to make fresh chicken if you don’t mind waiting.

“I had to come on and talk about the young man I believe he said his name was Ben. I was in twice yesterday and during the second trip with my older son he came over to ask how everything was. My son who has anxiety and autism and usually won’t talk to me when we are out starts asking Ben his birthday. I told my son he was working and couldn’t talk. “for 9 dollars, you get a HEFTY ratio of meat to rice. some platters are 6-7 dollars around the city but you definitely feel like you get way too much rice and not enough meat.

“I had the good fortune of staying close to this restaurant when I was up in the area. I absolutely loved everything we tried. So the sweet potatoes, mac n cheese, chicken wings, breakfast, drinks, this special drink the owner’s daughter makes, it was all so delicious! But what makes this place unforgettable, is the staff, it’s clearly a family run restaurant with a family that treats you like one of their own. Plus, unlike a lot of places I ate at in the Philly area, they know how to season food! Oh! I almost forgot! The grits were so good, and also the cheese fries, but the owners son made the best onion rings and sauce I’ve ever had! Seriously such a hidden gem.“

Atmosphere/Location - in the food court area. So plenty of seating. Also a good to go food for bus or plane. All in one bowl

However this outdated place is falling apart as every visit something appears to be wrong which is odd for this area. My family are regulars at this location so of course we notice everything. Now, There are leaks everywhere. You can tell the staff is a tad embarrassed but they do constantly apologize and try their best to, well , keep us dry? unfortunately won’t be back until it is safe for us to purchase from here without getting wet or having food contaminated. “I loved my food! It was cooked fresh when we ordered, and was delicious -- and plentiful for the price. We were greeted warmly by the kind gentleman/chef. He showed us our platters when they were ready, so we could indicate exactly how much of each sauce we wanted. The falafel was nice and crispy on the outside, and seasoned beautifully. The rice was also delicious, and the salad was fresh. My partner equally enjoyed his chicken and rice platter. The interior of the truck (which is what matters) appeared very clean and well kept. This was our first visit, but based on our experience, it will not be our last! :)“
