“A nice little place that has been in the downtown for close to 20 years. You enter through the bar that is roomy while also having hightop tables. When entering main dining, the first thing we noticed was the piano player, which is a super-cool touch! He played some fun songs, including some of his own, cracked jokes, and also interacted with the crowd while not being intrusive at all. My wife and I each got a martini (Dirty Gin for her and Honey Nut Cheerio for me) and both were delicious. As an appetizer, we got Eggplant Melanzane, which was light, had great flavor, and a delicious vodka sauce. My better half had a Caesar salad with probably the best Caesar dressing we have ever had. I went with the gorgonzola salad that had a nice, tart raspberry vinaigrette. For our entrees, she had the chicken special, which featured thin chicken breast and portobello mushrooms in a port wine sauce, topped with gorgonzola. It was very earthy and deep, a worthy special. I had the Pollo Sambuca, which is the same thin chicken breast with shrimp and mushrooms in a creamy sambuca sauce. It was very flavorful and slightly sweet. The anise is there, but not distracting. This was a solid meal! Our server, Thellenza, was attentive and informative. She made sure we understood all of the specials and took care of anything we asked. The rest of the staff is also helpful, too, and we were never in need of anything for long at all. The adult beverages that we enjoyed were definitely tasty, we just wish they had more of a wine and beer selection. Food: 9 Service: 10 Atmosphere: 10 Adult Drink Selection: 8 Overall: 9.25“

“Have to take time out to write a review on our experience Saturday evening.
Juggling two new grandchildren and doing the college traveling leaves my husband and I barely enough time to talk yet go out to a restaurant. We chose Bar Pazzo as our date night and what a great choice it turned out to be.
The environment is classy and lively, the patrons all come together to share their favorite meal or visit their favorite server. Seeing the crowded restaurant and witnessing a line of people eager to get in was just another validation of a good choice to dine there.
The staff is family and greets everyone with a warm greeting and pleasing attitude. You instantly feel welcomed here.
Our food was being prepared behind a small glass window where you could see the synchronicity' of a true team working together like well oiled machine.
We ordered the Scrantonian pizza, a local favorite for the pepperoni lovers out there. The crust was impeccable and finally we didn’t have to fight out the delicious pepperoni cooked to perfection. The desserts and drinks reflect the staffs creativity all made on premises fresh. The gelato is my favorite!
If you’re looking for an upbeat, classy, pizzeria with exquisite culinary talent take the time to visit Bar Oazzo. It’s worth the wait!

“I loved the menu: Italian classics in rational order. You choose your favorite recipe: Franchise, Marsala, Parmigiana, etc. then the meat: Chicken, Veal, Pork. What you get is excellent, classic-with-a-personal-touch food at an excellent price. There's more, and it's also wonderful. So is the family touch, and the neighborhood vibe. “Last night a waitress here clearly tried to rob us! I paid $45 cash then wanted to put the rest on my card. She came back said the card machine was broken ( no big deal) My dad handed her a $50 bill&she never brought his change back. I asked her for a receipt to show we paid, she gave me a song and a dance about having to go write up another receipt. We had already been there for 2 hours & I had to leave, on my way way home I realized I forgot to leave tip on table so I called to give my cc info to leave the tip. later that evening I got a call back saying I never fully paid the bill. That waitress took his $50 and pocketed it!! When I spoke to her on phone she flat out lied!!, even though I told her (after I paid) that she never gave him the change she even said (oh I owe you whatever the amount was) She said we never gave her the $50!?! my elderly dad clearly pulled it out of his wallet & handed it to her. Thankfully Christine the manager took care of everything for us! Btw it wasn't Wendy she was awesome it was the other lady there on 2/22 evening short dark hair! Needless to say we won't be back! Why would I ask for a receipt or change back if we didn't pay you!?!?!?!?!?!But watch who you hire Sidels... She a bad one!! To try and steal from an elderly man with dementia!?!?! Karma is a b**** girly, I hope your mom is proud of you!! Ty Christine and Wendy for being a great waitress! Food was wonderful! and never had another issue here!“

“I never leave reviews, but I was so impressed by my experience here on Saturday that I just feel like I really have to. My girlfriends and I met here for a girls night over the weekend and every single one of the four of us had nothing but great things to say about the whole evening. The service vibes were IMMACULATE; from the hostess, to the server, to the bartender, everyone added a positive energy to the restaurant. The food and drinks.. MY GAWD. We ordered quite a bit of food for the four of us to share, and there was not one single thing that we didn’t love; seriously, we talked about how good the food was for hours to everyone any anyone who would listen. Its two days later and I’m still talking about it and telling my husband that we need to make a reservation for our next date night. “My experience with Carmella’s was in Jim Thorp during the fall festival. I’m always a sucker for Italian desserts so when I saw Carmellas I had to try something. I got a linzer tart and cannoli. First off the cannoli was one of the best I’ve ever had. They were being filled there, and the flavor of the shell and filling was amazing. Linzer tart cookies are one of my favorites. Not only was this cookie the size of my entire hand it was delicious. The cookie was buttery and flaky and the jelly was the perfect flavor. I wish I lived closer to the actual restaurant because I’d be there every week. 10/10!“

“I like that it's in walking distance from my apartment at Mulberry Towers. I can go there get milk and pick up something to with my food stamps. I just moved to downtown Scranton and there aren't that many places I can go to within walking distance.I do think it's dark inside and makes it hard to see things. I don't like that you have to buy something and get the keys before you can use restroom. There aren't many places to go downtown and sometimes you really need to go.“

Carmen's has a great menu, excellent appetizers and salads, plus amazing entree dishes including beef, seafood and veal.
