Let me preface this review by saying I love Nashville Hot Chicken but outside of Nashville, TN is has been difficult to find a "hot" chicken that compares to what I've had in Tennessee. Some other places around the Burgh have Nashville Hot Chicken but the spice combinations don't work. At Gordo's the Nashville Hot Chicken Taco is so good with a perfect spice blend. It tastes like hot chicken tacos that I had at Pie Town Tacos in Nashville. Gordo's is the place in Pittsburgh to satisfy your hot chicken craving. Not to mention, their other menu items are delicious too. And they have great margs. My second favorite menu item is the Churoli- A churro and cannoli hybrid that rocks!“

“Been here through many iterations and happy to see it doing well again! We stopped in for drinks while visiting my daughter and learned they were having karaoke that Friday night. Not only was the place lively and fun but the staff there participated and made it more fun. Gretchen is an awesome bartender! Food was tasty and fresh. The KJ that evening is very entertaining and really got the crowd going. We will return on Fridays for karaoke for sure!“

“Great old time bar... lived right around the corner on William for decades. I stop here every time we're back in town. My wife and her two sisters both worked here in the 80's. Nice neighborhood except chic fillet wrappers from the guy next-door“

“Great neighborhood sports bar with excellent food quality service and the best wing deal in town!Mulligans is right near Allegheny Co airport so good easy location to get to. Tuesday is the main night I have been here for the 15 bucks all you can eat wing special. Plenty of other choices sandwiches burgers etc. Very reasonable prices on all menu items.Wheelchair accessibility: Very good. Ground level. No steps“

“It's a bar set up hard to talk with friends at dinner was told by other people that said great food they are right hopefully down the road the menu will get some dinner specials. “Murphy's a great, old-school, no-fuss dive bar with a dying neighborhood vibe, which the next generation will not know that they are missing until it's too late. It's super friendly, but in representation by the staff and the locals that crowd around the bar, and as it's a cash establishment, it's more than affordable. It's a real dive bar, so the beer and drink selection will not be too extensive, but if you're looking for 60 different kinds on a rotating tap, you're in the wrong place. It's dimly lit but no longer smokey, which is great when you just want to hide from the world.Nothing bad to be said about the place, and it's nice to be treated like you're part of the neighborhood, even as a married-on person (my husband lived here about a decade earlier, and so he's still recognized by staff and regulars).“

Adorable Greek owner, a talker *love it*, entertained us with life experiences, cafe history, three owners over 91 years…award winning foods…the gyro, the spicy sicilian, and the Spartan (the hubby had this, fabulous), each one, separately, winners of first place, three years in a row. “We've been going here for years. A few takeaways:Would love to see establishment be in a larger place. Many times we have to go somewhere else when no seating is available. The interior could use a bit of a refresh, it's dark. Most folks that I have brought here and myself think the high top tables are toooo high. They are not at a comfortable arm height. The menu could use a refresh. It has been the same for years. Some healthier options would be nice for summer. We do patronize here often, hubby likes the wing night! Prices are somewhat reasonable. Food is always pretty good. Nice local establishment.“

“What a fun little spot to stop in for a drink before & after an event. We dropped by for the 1st time b4 the Pens game (& after if course). The owner Jimmy was so gracious, so friendly to talk with. The crowd wasn't too bad (we even started taking to a few other PENs fans, that was nice) , the food was really good. So if you're looking for a good place to hang out, grab a bite & a drink be sure to stop at Shale's. I know I'll definitely be back.“
