Horrible service and denying and not letting our daughter join us for a 3:45 dinner for a Friday night hockey game. So many other better options in state college.
I went to this establishment for the first time tonight. I’ve heard good things but I was sorely disappointed with my experience. I ordered the steak they have on their menu and it came out cold. As did the fried that accompanied it. I asked for it to be medium rare and it was without a doubt rare as rare can be. That wasn’t the most disappointing thing though. Local Whiskey offers good drinks and a nice atmosphere, enhanced by live acoustic music that creates a great vibe. The staff is very accommodating and friendly, although they can get overwhelmed during busy times. The food is fantastic and homemade, with options like the cheese steak that is considered one of the best. There is a large drink menu, making it a perfect way to end the day. It's a great place for enjoying a beer and good food at a decent price, especially with specials throughout the week that are worth trying. Although there are no local or craft beers, the tap beer is served cold. Despite some delays during peak hours, the experience is lively and well worth a second visit during quieter times.
