However, there was so much rice in both and less meat, so we found the meat was not sufficient to eat the rice. If Cafe Alina wants improve its services, think about our comments and take some remedial measures. Thanks!“

“The place to go before the football game! Great Saturday morning eats. Sooo good!! Our server Jasmine was amazing. Her hospitality made us feel at home. She was very knowledgeable about the menu as well. Shout out to her!! We had the pecan pancakes, the waffle and regular pancakes. All top notch!! 10 out 10. The only downside is the line and wait to get in. Waited for 45 mins but it was worth it. Check them out. Highly recommended“

“The food is delicious! The rice is seasoned perfectly. I love the lamb & chicken combo. The lamb is always so tender. The white sauce & hot sauce together is bomb. This is enough to feed 2 people depending on how hungry you are. Very decently priced. $12 for this plate! It is down Calder way sort of like an ally and back in a little shopping area. Highly recommend!“

“We came for dinner with a group of 16 while in town for a swim meet. Some restaurants struggle with large groups but not this place! Our waitress was absolutely fantastic at making sure everyone had what they needed. The atmosphere was perfect for a group. The main takeaway from the entire group was that the FOOD WAS INCREDIBLE! Two of the chefs, Alec and Quinn, came out to the table to make sure everything was ok and even answered questions about some of the dishes. The adults were loving the crafted cocktails and the kids loved the desserts! If you’re looking for a farm to table style restaurant that provides great service and pays attention to all the details-this is it!“

“My husband and I love good food, but Indian cuisine is not one that we are experienced in. Decided the lunch buffet was perfect not only for the cost, but the wide array of curry options to try. We absolutely loved them all. They had a mild to medium spiciness (enough to warm you up but not make you cry or sweat), the flavors were bold and well put together. I had a number of questions that were happily answered by staff. All in all, great experience and will definitely return again.“

“Wow! Wow! Wow! We enjoyed an absolutely delicious dinner at American Ale House & Grill before a concert at BJC. We started with shrimp cocktail, with the huge, firm shrimp resting on a bucket of ice and dipped in chilled cocktail sauce. Perfection! My husband loves a good Cuban and declared this one the best he’s ever had. My lobster roll and Old Bay seasoned sweet potato fries were divine. From start to finish, our visit to American Ale House & Grill was on point. When in the State College area, this will be our go to spot!“

“I would still recommend them. However, my sister and I ordered pizzas today. I LOVE truffle oil. I ordered a Kennett Square pizza and they forgot my truffle oil…..made my pizza less than appealing. It did not taste good without the truffle oil!!!! Hopefully if I return they will remember the BEST part of my pizza……truffle oil!!!!!“

“I visited this restaurant after traveling from Michigan. I took a seat at the bar and I was greeted by the bartended immediately. She was very friendly and had a nice personality. Definitely a good choice for a bartender! The restaurant was nice and clean. I ordered a beer and a steak. Overall the meal was very good. Steak was cooked just right, fries were tasty and the broccoli was good too.
However, while the steak was very good, it had a tendon running through it that I couldn’t even cut with a steak knife. I just had to eat around it. Kind of a bummer.“

“My boyfriend and I were looking for a place to stop for food after watching a movie, and we loved the food! We had the ability to make reservations online or order ahead but didn't really have a need to. The food came out quick and had great flavor. The cocktails were perfect not too strong not too weak. The prices were very reasonable as well! Our waitress was very nice and it wasn't super busy so it was a nice chill atmosphere I would definitely go again and highly recommend!“

I was impressed with their new lunch menu that let's you pick from 3 crusts and any toppings by the slice at a reasonable price. The flakey crust was unconventional but very tasty. I went to the Hi-Way downtown in college but have largely forgotten it but was pleasantly surprised today and will go back for lunch much more often. Will they win our office vote for the best pizza? Not sure but I suspect they are in the running.“

“This was our first trip in and my daughter and I loved it! The staff were all friendly and helpful. The chicken quesadillas were delicious and so was the queso! We were pleasantly surprised at how good everything was! I wish we had one in the Hollidaysburg/Altoona area!“

“We had the pleasure of dining at Gigi’s for dinner recently. The menu is very creative containing dishes we haven’t experienced previously. Quite an array of different cocktails that were creative as well. The food was excellent, but I’d say the drinks were a bit on the small size with the one large ice cube helping to make it look like a more generous pour. The different Old Fashioned drinks ranged from $14-$20, which I felt excessive. I’d call the atmosphere “spirited “ as it certainly was not quite fine dining. I would go back without hesitation.“

“We were able to get reservations for a Party of 12 on a Friday night and a table for a Party of 14vonna Saturday night in late July 2025. We were all spending the weekend in State College reuniting for our own little Penn State Alumni Reunion of Friends. The Taphouse staff were very professional, helpful, and accommodating. The food and beverages were very good and the wait staff were excellent. I highly recommend this business.“
