“Definitely do not come here for the atmosphere or the cleanliness. It hasn't seen a sanitizer since 1980. Literally. It was pretty bad. BUT....we committed to staying because someone gave the food a 5 stars review...and I see why. It was hands down the best breakfast I've had. Every part of that meal was a 5. Only the food, the coffee was awful, so not the beverages, just the food. I was in total shock. That cook needs a raise! Also,it's a shame, someone needs to clean this place up, and give the dining area a face lift. Because, the food their serving deserves to be served on a nice plate, and put on a clean, bought this century, booth. It also smells real bad, they need to open up the windows and let some fresh air in there.“

If you was there and needed cigarettes, no matter what time or whoever was there, employees or customers. And needed cigarettes, you would have received cigarettes even if you didn't have any money. Elrama Generating Station was running full bore as well as West Penn Power and the mines were open supplying coal to these giant power houses Well that era is gone!!! “I got wings with the sauce on the side so they wouldn't get soggy and they were so so good I don't know what kind of breading that is but it's delicious. I'm only knocking off a star because the beer is way more money than it should be. A bottled drink is about $4.25 at least mine were I got two and it was $8.50 but all the food I got was seriously delicious especially those pizza egg rolls and the fresh cut fries I probably won't drink here but I'll order food again“

“Mike (the owner of the village inn) came in to Jim’s bar in Monongahela today and took care of everyone in our bar. He is a great guy and he brought some laughter to all of us. 10/10 I highly recommend you spending money at his establishment“

“It’s definitely a hood bar so if you aren’t comfortable with that, move along. But anyway, it’s definitely the hood. I’m not afraid of the people but I’m sure lots of people looking for a nice bar for a glass of wine or a different feel would definitely feel awkward here… again, bc it’s a hood bar.
P.s. definitely not a place to look for a husband or wife lol“
“Nice little place to hang out. There’s a pool table, dart machine, small chance games, approximately priced drinks, plenty of seating, and nice clean bathrooms. The bartenders are really friendly and talkative. It’s a nice place to strike up a conversation with a stranger and talk about random stuff.

“The bartender, red, and the other guy at the bar were what made this place exceptional! Plenty of props for making photos fun, pool was great. Drinks were cheap urinal was not the best but the toilet worked. What more could you ask for? We will be back probably tomorrow 🥳“

“i have taken several people here visiting from all over PA and even Florida. Everyone loved it, it's like a dive bar from the past. Not fancy on purpose, not pretentious on purpose. The food is off the charts, wings, burgers, cheese steaks. They even have a tent set up for the covid. Do yourself a favor and find this gem.“
