“Prices are terrific, service is outstanding, and the atmosphere is what you'd expect out of a tavern, with a bonus from some potted plants.
The soup du jour, a spiced black bean soup, was out of this world. The fried pickles were the best fried pickle wedges I've ever had, with some terrific batter. The wings were good. The sauces were delicious, especially the spice golden BBQ sauce we had (golden goldenboy, I think). The only thing was they weren't crispy.
We'll definitely be back though.“

“Right on walnut street! I was out with a friend and he suggested this place, I was there like 25+ years ago when it had another owner. So we went in, got some beers, and ordered. Beers came quick and cold! My friend ordered a hot turkey with gravy and fries, I ordered a hot ham and cheese. Side of bacon covered cheese fries....excellent! Prices were good, as was all the food and drink! I highly recommend this place. Don't miss out!“

“Cash only joint! Smallish neighborhood gem. Looks unassuming from the outside but it's just perfect for the locals. No beers on draft and that's a little sad but the delicious food totally makes up for it. The bartenders/waitstaff are always friendly, attentive and funny. Since we moved to Mount Washington, we're pretty much slowly becoming regulars so there go our plans to lose weight this year ?“

“I WOULD RATE 10 STARS IF I COULD!!! I LOVE A GOOD WING AND SAUCE AND WHEN MY BARBER SUGGESTED TIM'S PLACE FOR THE BUFFALO WINGS, I WAS HOOKED!!!! “We went there one night with my husband’s cousins. It was a lot of fun! The drinks were great as well. I love the one with juice of a whole fresh orange and the one with fire( I forgot the name). We stayed until 2 in the morning and got tacos on Carson st. Felt exhausted the next day lol.“

“Well, I've been here several times before, and I've already posted a review for The Betsy Shop after I had breakfast there just one time and have been there again, so I think it's time I posted for this place too. I gotta tell ya, it's refreshing to come into a place that is always inviting and where you feel comfortable and the people working there are friendly and all enjoy what they're doing, which makes a huge difference in how they do their job. I worked in food service for about a third of my work life, in retail for about the same and now I'm finishing the final third of my work life in a call center, doing what is supposed to be "customer service". My most memorable work experiences have always been the ones I really enjoyed. Anyway, I really like this place because everyone who works here, seems to enjoy what they're doing.There aren't very many places around this area where you can go and really relax and just be yourself and you can also get great service and very good food in a clean environment, and the Great Allegheny Passage Trail is right outside the door! Does it get any better in this part of Allegheny county folks? I don't think so ? Try it. You will like it, for sure ?“

“Definitely do not come here for the atmosphere or the cleanliness. It hasn't seen a sanitizer since 1980. Literally. It was pretty bad. BUT....we committed to staying because someone gave the food a 5 stars review...and I see why. It was hands down the best breakfast I've had. Every part of that meal was a 5. Only the food, the coffee was awful, so not the beverages, just the food. I was in total shock. That cook needs a raise! Also,it's a shame, someone needs to clean this place up, and give the dining area a face lift. Because, the food their serving deserves to be served on a nice plate, and put on a clean, bought this century, booth. It also smells real bad, they need to open up the windows and let some fresh air in there.“

“Now here was a fun surprise from the street you walk into a small bar area typical for Pittsburgh and not much of a surprise, but when you walk in the back the place opens way up into a giant pool room with multiple pool tables and dart machines.“

“Garvey's is a fantastic place nestled in Southside slopes.We stumbled upon when we were walking from the slopes to the flats. Bartender James was a lot of fun. They don't serve food but you can order in. I showed up with my whole football crew and we brought snacks and sandwiches. Felt just like tailgate! They have a fun bowling game in the back room. We also bought Garvey's Tshirts and hoodies. What a blast“

“Ordered the peach bourbon and the butternut squash risotto with shrimp! My drink was speedily served and perfectly balanced with flavor. My risotto had on-point texture, with huge pieces of shrimp and delicious, thinly fried pieces of sweet potato on top for crunch! I devoured it all!
Vegetarian options: The risotto does not automatically come with meat! You can have it without, and there are several accommodations on the menu.
Dietary restrictions: First thing when ordering, the waitress asked if I had any allergies.“

“I cannot say enough good things about our experience here. Coming in as a first timer there, I expected “first timer treatment” (you know how it can be when you’re not an established “regular”) but instead was greeted with enthusiasm, kindness and an eagerness to deliver fantastic service! The venue is clean and beautiful from the huge big screen TVs, to the high-tech bar with built in wireless chargers all the way to the cleanliness and overall appearance of the bathroom. Everything is clean and new, and there is a ton of space and a lot of bar seating! All of the staff members were fun, polite and extremely vigilant in providing top-notch diligent service, and all of our food was incredible too! Thank you so much to Heather and Britain for a wonderful first time experience! This place is awesome!“

Parking: Plenty of parking unless they are having a party. Then you want to arrive early to have a good parking space“

“Perfect ol' skool bar/tavern with some food that would rival ANY establishment/eatery in the Pittsburgh area. Fish, WHOLE wings and sandwiches are mind-blowing & AGAIN, would rival ANY establishment. May have the BEST Long Island pitchers for a dime (10.00). Staff are A+1. Fish sandwiches on Mancini's is most definitely worth the trip.??“

“This is the only bar open in port vue...It's a great place to be for a local watering hole..Lots of entertainment, they have darts&league,if you want to join...8ft.pool table& and a couple of machines& occasion ly have a D.J. They have daily specials on food&beverages...The owners are friendly&socialable, the bartenders are fun& friendly..That's why i love this bar!!!“
