“Al's is my first ice cream shop since moving to Pittsburgh and no reason to go anywhere else! We started off with a couple of great, juicy hotdogs! My sundae was so large, I guess because of it's deliciousness it was easy to finish! The flavor and the portion sure beats where I came from. “While I don't often eat fried food, I found this restaurant while exploring Clariton. It's a little hard to spot. The menu looked interesting so I gave it a try. I ordered the shrimp dinner, but wish that I had noticed that only some dinners come with coleslaw. The shrimp were delicious, however. Be sure to order ahead, as the restaurant is popular, and does not really cater to walk-ins, as their menu is only available online. I will definitely be back.”

“Beyond being some of the (if not the sole) best Italian food I have ever had, what stands out most about Dish Osteria is their commitment to true hospitality; we arrived early to have drinks at the bar, and from the start we were treated with care and true personal interest. The bartender was so insightful and walked us through the menu, answering any questions we might have so that we could order our dinner with ease (it was last Wednesday at 8PM— I forget his name, but please give him his flowers. He was amazing!). I had the Little Bird bourbon cocktail and absolutely loved it. This level of care continued as we moved to our table for dinner. Our waiter and host went above and beyond to ensure we enjoyed our meal, refreshing our bread without us having to ask (that homemade focaccia was dangerous— we couldn’t stop eating it!), suggesting wine pairings, and also allowing us to taste two options when we couldn’t choose. Every single dish we ordered was phenomenally crafted and delicious ; we ordered the Gamberi shrimp and grilled artichoke salad to start, followed by the short rib ragu gnocchi and rigatoni with smoked scamorza for our entrees (I will dream about both of these dishes for some time). For dessert, we had the lemon cello cheesecake, which was perfectly balanced with sweet and tangy flavors. Our waiter also provided us with a complimentary glass of moscato with our dessert. This was a phenomenal first experience at this restaurant and I cannot wait to come back. I’m also gifting a visit here to some of my friends for their anniversary and can’t wait for them to try it as well!”

“A truly unique atmosphere! Had a cigar & whiskey in the cigar lounge which was a really unique (speakeasy) like experience.Dining room was very comfortable. It’s an open concept but it’s not loud. Menus are tablets which can dial in allergies or certain profiles you’re looking for with food, wine, liquors & cigars. You can tell a lot of thought went into the little details. Which is impressive.Dinner- venison loin was cooked perfectly & everything that was on the plate tasted great. Sommelier provided great wine recommendations for courses. Server was outstanding. “Wendy the waitress was amazing. She did a fantastic job and was always there to serve our needs. The pasta on the menu was amazing as was all the sides we had. The only down side was that I wanted a Bolognaise pasta and Wendy told me that it was not on the menu, but they could make up a batch for me. First off, unlike the other pasta's on the menu that were amazing, the Bolognaise dish that the chef threw together for me was mediocre at best. Not to mention, I was charged $46 for the sauce and $3 for the noodles? For a plate of pasta that was not good at all. When all of the other dishes offered much more of a delicious pasta at half the cost. Long story short, don't order off the menu and you will enjoy this very much.”

“This was my first time here. I highly recommend. The environment was friendly and full of different groups of people having a blast. Some were watching the game on the big TV's, some were playing the available board games. The music was poppin'!!! People of all ages were there which I thought was cool. “2nd trip here - changed up service to counter only. Order at counter, grab a table and they bring you your order. Food delicious as last time. Homemade baked goods - my wife loves their English muffins - used in their breakfast sandwiches and available for separate purchase. Sandwiches are huge. Get to Mt Oliver before summer 24 when they relocate to New Brighton. You won't be disappointed.”

As a Portland-based vegan, I was beginning to become seriously depressed with the plant based food selections in western Pennsylvania after only a few days out north of Pittsburgh.However, I found this spot on happy cow and decided to stop in before I left, and I am so glad I did.Not only is this a fully plant based restaurant, but their meals provide a quality balance of nutrients and are absolutely delicious! I got the ful madamas, a delightful bean stew, and my comrade got the black bean bowl, which was wonderfully spiced and came with heaps of veggies, as well as tofu.The atmosphere was incredible, the service was great, and overall it was such a breath of fresh air compared to the drab carnivorous pub food I found elsewhere.Even in portland we could use some great plant-based African-inspired food like this.A+, 10/10, absolutely will come here whenever I'm in the area.Vegetarian options: It's fully vegan”

“Took my mom here for dinner tonight after the recommendation of a friend. I got the pork chop with mashed potatoes and carrots and she got the meatloaf. The food was excellent, the staff was very attentive and nice. We ended are meal with a piece of the baklava cheesecake (honestly the best piece of cheesecake I've ever had), before the check was even brought my mom was already making plans to bring her brother and his wife. We will definitely be returning and bringing friends highly recommend.”

Amanda was very helpful in explaining everything, letting us know what to expect from certain smoothies or juices, how long to expect things to last after taking it home, etc. In addition, she made some great recommendations.
