“Yesterday we dined at Tandoori Pizza and were very very happy. We found the best pizza place of Philly. We tried tandoori and achari wings, garlic sticks, chicken curry/tandoori and chocolate chip cookies. Everything was out of the world. Never had desi pizza, wings this tasty. pizza was rich and flavorful. The taste was outstanding, the ambiance was welcoming, and the service was exceptional. “This place is great. There circle pizza is good, but I think there square pizza is better. The dough becomes a bit fluffy, so it is rich but not excessively so. I normally don't like White pizzas but the square white pizza here is one of my go to orders. The cheese steaks here are also excellent. The quality of the meat is quite a bit higher than typical. I don't eat a lot of cheese steaks but this would be the place I would get them.“

“The owner and staff greeted us with a great big smile and then we picked out what looked to be my favorite—buffalo chicken. I knew this pizza looked like it was the perfect consistency, but I wasn’t sure yet if the taste would measure up. It had the perfect amount of cheese and just the right hint of ranch sauce—oh, so good! The plain slice took me right back to my hometown pizza shop in both taste and consistency. We are super picky about our pizzas, with Brooklyn’s best being among my faves. I am telling you that this place is the best hidden gem in Philly for pizza! You have to try it!“

“It was Pi-Day (3.14) so I had to go see what Down North Pizza had for me. A lamb sausage w/ lemon ricotta, za’tar, and a garlic honey drizzle. I don’t even eat meat on a regular, but this just sounded too good to pass up.

“I’ve been coming here since 1964 and it’s still just as good! Hands down- best pizza in Philadelphia! The brothers/brothers in law have retired, but one of the sons is carrying the legacy forward. All they sell is pizza and soda, and only beef and beef pepperoni toppings. It’s no frills, but worth the ride I make every so often from Chestnut Hill. I only wished they took credit cards and stayed open later, but I understand. If you’re a pizza snob like me, do yourself a favor and try King of Pizza?“

“I truly loved this place. I tasted pizzas I had never heard of and they were amazingly delicious. The chocolate “pizza—different crust more like a pastry) was “to die for”. I ate way too much but it was worth it. I would highly recommend it as a delicious and unique experience well worth eating way too much!!! They were all so good it was hard to decide what I liked best, all of which I had never tried or heard of before. Try it out and I don’t think you could be anything but delighted!“

“We have been ordering pizza at this place since they have started their service and we never had a bad experience. We always order the plain cheese pizza and we absolutely love it. One of the best cheese pizza we’ve ever had!. The crust was incredibly soft and chewy, and the marinara was absolutely perfect. “I’ll start by saying the only reason this didn’t get five stars is that it took an inordinate amount of time to get the pizza. To the point where I thought we were forgotten as there weren’t that many tables…super friendly service but the oven can only cook seemingly 1-2 pizzas at a time so it takes a WHILE (probably ~40 minutes order to table). But if you have the time, the pizzas are amazing.

Started with the short rib special. This was pretty good. I didn’t feel like the salsa verde added much. Crust ever so slightly burnt but in a way that I enjoyed.

The true star, though, is the Fun Guy. The caramelized onions on this pie elevated it to another level I’ve never experienced and may be one of the best pizzas I’ve ever had. Would absolutely come back for this alone.

The space is hip. BYOB and chill overall with tons of tables.“

Tonight my family went there to celebrate a birthday with some pizza( the pizza was great) it ended up being a very scary situation that ended up with having to call an ambulance. The staff were great! They checked on my family several times, brought us stuff to help with the situation, called 911 and kept checking for the ambulance and even comforted my mom who was in full panic! We weren’t there long before this all happened but I did get to try two different kinds of pizza and I’d 100% recommend them! She took our order, brought the food out and walked away, never asking if we needed anything or checking back to see if everyone was satisfied. She sat at another table instead, chatting with the customers.“

Yesterday I decided to check out an old favorite, Rustica in NoLibs. They didn’t miss a beat. Still reasonably priced for a slice that felt classy. And damn, is that chicken parm slice classy.
