“This was my first time trying the famous Circles and Squares and wowza it was amazing! We ordered one square and two circles. The circles were great, but the square… holy crap! Amazing! Which made us deeply reflect about the naming of this shop. Discussion followed and agreement came that the shop should be called Squares and Circles showing that the squares are a lot better! We also thought about how circles are cut into triangles and would love for that shape to be considered in the naming of the shop.“

“Johnny's has the best cheesesteaks and square pizza hands down! I love Angelo's, Dough head and John's roast pork but this place is definitely better. I love that you can find parking and actually sit inside and not have to eat in my van at lunch when I'm on the road. Go Johnny Go!!!!“

“Have been twice so far. I recommend ordering to pick up online. It’ll be way quicker than in person. So far I’ve tried their cheesesteak, chicken cheesesteak, grandma pizza, and vodka chicken pie. “It is rare for a brewpub to have vegan food, and I echo what others here have said about the quality and options. Owners are vegan and seemingly intend this to be sort of a vegan place with meat options without making it obvious, lol. Most pizzas can be made vegan, and the mushroom one comes drizzled with a black garlic aioli made with vegan mayo (I asked). Their flagship West Coast IPA is to die for. And the roasted broccoli appetizer was divine. Definitely a place to return to many times. The building is a former horse stable attached to a market, and we mistakenly went into the market first, but the pub is actually between the hotel and the market. Plenty of outside seating, not so much inside, so make a reservation. We went for lunch when it was not as busy. Very friendly cool staff. There is even a beignet sundae dessert with soy vanilla ice cream available. Free parking lot. What a beautiful Philadelphia town. Updated from previous review on 2026-07-31“

“We had my son and future daughter in law’s rehearsal dinner at the Newtown location tonight. It was fabulous!!! Everything was done so well and the food was delicious and never stopped coming!! The servers were so pleasant and attentive. I would highly recommend for any special event. You would not be disappointed!!“

“I’ve been coming here since 1964 and it’s still just as good! Hands down- best pizza in Philadelphia! The brothers/brothers in law have retired, but one of the sons is carrying the legacy forward. All they sell is pizza and soda, and only beef and beef pepperoni toppings. It’s no frills, but worth the ride I make every so often from Chestnut Hill. I only wished they took credit cards and stayed open later, but I understand. If you’re a pizza snob like me, do yourself a favor and try King of Pizza?“

“Their pizza is delicious, always get a white pie with spinach and mushrooms. Unfortunately their sandwiches are not as consistent. Just ordered three Panini sandwiches. Two veggies and one bruschetta. The bruschetta was as ordered and very good. We only received one veggie Panini and got some other grilled chicken with lettuce and tomato?? Also the veggie Panini on their menu and online says grilled eggplant, instead it was two large fried pieces of eggplant on each half. Very generous sandwich but couldn’t eat most of it because of the fried eggplant.😫“

“We have found our new favorite spot! Sat outside in CHBC’s fantastic beer garden on a beautiful Saturday early evening. The Biergarten was spacious and had a great vibe and very friendly servers. Don’t forget to bring your canine best friend to this dog friendly spot. While we didn't bring a dog of our own, we loved interacting with everyone else's four-legged friends.

The food, service, and drink selection are all impressive and on point. As someone who only consumes plant-based meals, I was thrilled to find so many amazing vegan options on the menu. The vegan cheesesteak, falafel burger, and chickpea tinga nachos are all delicious and highly recommended, but they also have equally delicious options for carnivores that looked really good. We cannot wait to come back and try the pizza next time.

For drinks, I ordered non-alcoholic beer, but as a beer enthusiast at a brewery, I couldn't help but notice the impressive body, clarity, and color of the house beers being served around us. They have a great variety of appealing styles that will easily please most palates. Highly recommend this place!“

“5 Stars!!! Most authentic Napoletana Pizza found this side of the pond! The starter dough was brought over from Naples,IT. The oven from Italy. If you’re in Philly, you must go and taste for yourself. I lived in Naples, Italy for over 5 years…Chefs Joe & Angela nailed it again.
