“My husband and I like stopping at The First Post for drinks or sometimes an afternoon lunch. The atmosphere is nice and the food is great! We also love that they have multiple beers on tap to sample. We were sad to find out that they have done away with beer flights. Hopefully they reconsider this decision. Flights is one of our favorite ways to sample the various beers. Luckily, our bartender Brandon was nice enough to re-create a flight for us, even though they technically do not serve them anymore. Great service!“
“Where do I begin... lord have mercy this place was AMAZING!!!!!! GILLIAN our waitress was AMAZING!!! the food was AMAZING!!!! It was just such an incredible experience. I've been to some "fancy" restaurants and this hidden gem blew our minds. I recommend this restaurant 100000%.“
“My husband and I ventured into York city this evening. Found street parking. We started out with the shrimp and crab egg rolls. Excellent appetizer. My husband got the side salad, which was very fresh . He enjoyed it very much. He also had a nice cold beer.We both had the seafood linguini. It was so tasty, full of scallops, shrimp, clams and mussels. The broth was so creamy and buttery. I also had some toasted bread as an extraOur server was on the spot. Excellent service. We will be back!“
“Our first visit to York and we're out bar hopping on the Friday of St. Paddy's Day weekend. First stop, Holy Hound Taproom. What don't I love about his place? ❤️Cool, old school bar with worn wood floors, tons of character, plenty of tall tables and good food. Our bartender, Ray, was crushing the cocktails I ordered, and the pork tacos were so good we ordered a second round, lol! Definitely make this a stop on your York bar tour. ?????“
“This is a typical dive bar but it is an awesome place they have incredible food specials and deals however the bar is a bit Smokey and dated but that's kind of its charm I guess you can still get a steak and potatoes here for about $5 which is unheard of so I have to say even if you get to go food this place is well worth a “
“My friends and I went for my birthday around 3:40 PM. Our waitress suggested Happy Hour, which began at 4 PM. (7 days a week Happy Hour) We appreciated her telling us, and it gave us some time to look at the menu. We love to share and decided to order a variety of appetizers and wine. We ordered clams, mozarella sticks, crab dip, fries, garlic parm wings, and bbq wings. Everything was good. The service was great. The best part was that it was happy hour and it was all half off. “We go on Tuesday nights for dinner n BINGO. Our server, Matt is wonderful. Suzie goes over n above every time we are there. Brings out special things for our 4 yr old.Best quesadilla n onion soup! Every thing we've ordered has been delicious! Kuddos to their cook too.Very accommodating for my oxygen n mobility issues. It's our new family tradition.JoAnn HutchinsonParking: A limited amount in front, but huge lot in the back . Need more handicapped spots closer to front door.Kid-friendliness: Special sturdy cup for 4 yr olds. She won BINGO the first-time she went n again last night. Suzie brought out prizes appropriate for her.Wheelchair accessibility: No steps. Wide doors.“
“Food is great! The wings haven't been matched. I have frequented this bar for years before and after the change in management. Service is usually pretty decent. Chad remembers your drink of choice and keeps them coming. Ambiance is good. I have to spend a few good dollars to play the music I enjoy listening to but that's ok, This is my go to spot for Happy Hr .“
“Had a great time. They have a separate area that is no smoking. The food was good. My only complaint was that the sub rolls are so skinny that they barely hold anything, making it very different to eat. It's like an open face sub with everything falling everywhere. It was like a very skinny French Baggett. At a bar, things should be easy to eat. I ate 1 of my husband's wings that he didn't like very much, and I thought it was the best ever.“
“The food is outstanding to say the least. Recently discovered how too knotch if not one of the best places in Central Pa to get wings. If you like them extra crispy like I do then this is your spot. A lot of flavors to choose from and $10.95 is a super fair price right now for 10.“
“I ordered the Pittsburg Salad, which consists of lettuce, red onions, cheese, steak, fries, grilled onions & peppers, and tomatoes. I chose Honey-mustard dressing with it. The salad was skimpy on the fries & cheese. Also, their honey-mustard has a very strong mustard flavor & not enough honey. Other than that, the salad tasted really good.“
“The polenta with mushrooms topping was good tasting but not worth the price for corn base and a few zucchini and very light on the mushroom topping. Not worth the money. Needs at least a cup of mushrooms and zucchini side. The music was good.“
“Great little hometown bar! The new owners did an awesome job updating their inside to give it a more cozier atmosphere. The bartenders are wonderful and so are the locals. Definitely a place where you can enjoy a few drinks, share a few laughs and throw a game of darts. 10/10 would go there again ??“
“Murphys Hall is way bigger then what it looks like from outside. The music was amazing a live DJ was doing his thing pool tables and a ping pong table. The food was good with All kinds of drinks. Clean very mellow spot for the college kids (21-26)“
“I've eaten here since before it was bought and transformed and let me tell you, they did an excellent job making this place look gorgeous!! I haven't had bad food there yet and the same goes for drinks. It's a little pricey, but a very nice place and worth the money. I highly recommend it!“
