“I’m disabled and found it easy to walk into the place. It wasn’t overly crowded but had enough people to make it feel very lively! I started with the tortilla soup, then had the fish tacos and to drink I tried the strawberry Jarritos and a sip of their margarita which I’d have again on a warm day ☀️ Everything was delicious, the staff was patient and courteous. I felt very comfortable and I’m already planning my next visit for the springtime!“

“Super bon restaurant pour famille couple amis ou autre. Nourriture excellent, sellers problem on availability commandé plusieurs types pour partager et ils ont amené tout en même temps et on avait pas de place sure la table. En plus les tortillas devenait trop mouillé parce-que ce nous prenait trois de temps pour les manger. En dernier la gérante est venu à notre table pour nous faire comprendre de s'en aller pour faire la place pour d'autre mais il n'y avait personne qui attendait.“

“My Fiancé and I went to El Gordo for the first time after reading online reviews. We were pleasantly surprised and agreed with the positive feedback. We found the atmosphere to be relaxed which was what we were looking for . The Sunday special for 2 of Chicken or Tofu Fajitas was our choice for our first visit ( but definitely not our last ) & we were very happy with it. It was delicious and a generous sizzling pan with the usual accompaniments of 8 soft Tacos , Pico de Gallo, Sour Cream, and Salsa . We chose a bottle of their house wine which was an Organic Bio Tempranillo from Spain. The price was very reasonable.
For dessert we had the traditional Churros and Flan and were happy with both along with an Americano/ Canadiano.
The service was exceptional, courteous, friendly , made us feel like honoured guests or family. We were especially happy with our server , Simon who is a definite asset to your Restaurant. He has the perfect personality for the service profession.
We would also like to give a shout-out to Malik. He too is great in the service profession. Personality wise, these two rate a 5/5 + 🌟⭐️
We will be returning and cannot wait for Summer Terrasse weather.

“Their food is delicious! And they have horchata which is so good. But the best part is that they have a grocery part with products that are kind of hard to find unless you live near those latino grocery stores in Montreal. Authentic and Mexican. Absolute must try!!Seriously though, the horchata is crazy delicious.“

“REAL Mexican food, delicious and authentic. When I went through the door I felt the scent of a home made meal, took me back to my childhood at grandma’s house in Michoacán. My food was cooked at the moment and it was on the table surprisingly fast. I ordered “enchiladas Rojas” and they were the real thing! I asked for some extra spicy salsa, they brought red and green salsas, not too spicy but great taste, and the salsa macha is almost better than my mom’s. I’m going back with my kids to try the carnitas 🤤“
“Tasty dishes and several products that I hadn't seen in a while. Fast service, perhaps a little too much because we don't always have time to savor and finish the starter or a dish to share before the rest arrives.Not many vegetarian options but possibility to adjust the dishes.Basically a relaxed atmosphere and we have a good time“

“Ordered the vegetarian quesadilla with huitlacoche. On the menu, it was listed as a starter, and I thought I'd have to order more food to complete my lunch. But it was such a generous portion, I could not eat any more. And it was delicious! The server was very courteous, too. Would love to come back on my next trip to Montreal“

“Pros: Beautiful ambience and decor, good service, great selection of Mexican dishes some of which would be hard to find anywhere else.
Cons: It is of course the food why we came to this place. We really wanted to try Chile en nugada especially after reading the novel “Like Water for Chocolate”. And what a disappointment when it was served lukewarm. Asked the server and he said it was normal as they did not want us to burn ourselves. Yet the molcajete came extremely hot as expected! Also Chile en nugada came without pomegranate seeds which is a must in this recipe. Budget cuts?
And the molcajete mixte which costs $75 also speaks of budget cuts. It was missing the promised grilled cheese and nopales and had only a small quantity of beef, only 3 small tiger shrimps. It did have some cheap filler that looked like potato flautas.
Overall impression: mixed feelings, probably would not come back.“

“Excellent mexican fare. Everything was fresh vibrant and delicious and served with finesse. The birria was phenomenal, fish tacos were delicious, the fried chicken as well and the burrito was very tasty. Everything we had we truly enjoyed. The desserts were excellent as well from the key lime pie to the tres leches cake. Service was friendly and efficient. We will be coming back for sure.“

“The food is absolutely delicious! I would say the only negative about this place is the service. I came in when there was nobody else and the 2 staff members didn’t acknowledge me as I waited. I could tell they were filling up the food bins and didn’t mind waiting. A simple, “be with you soon” would have been great. Instead they ignored me until they were done. Other than that, amazing place and will definitely be back again!“

“Hace una semana fui con unos amigos que vinieron de visita desde Sherbrooke, la atención de las chicas es maravilloso, pero hay una persona LGBT, alto, delgado y de lentes que tiene una prepotencia para atender, inició una de las chicas atendiéndonos y necesitaba una servilleta, el chico estaba cerca y cuando se la pedí me volteo a ver feo y me contestó muy prepotente como si mi dinero no valiera ahí, luego le pedí una cerveza y nunca me llegó y me la quisieron agregar a la cuenta, y cuando le comenté a la chica, el chico se acercó y me preguntó muy grosero si siempre si iba a querer la cerveza o ya no, después de esperarlo por 20 minutos, no es la primera vez que voy, la verdad el servicio de todos es maravilloso, pero la de el no, no sé si porque yo también sea gay el se siente con el derecho de tratarme así o quien sabe, pero si deberían supervisar el trato al cliente de sus colaboradores, de ahí solo me queda agradecer por la comida que es muy rica 🫶🏽✨“

“Très bon sans réservation, ils nous ont accueilli avec le sourire. Les fajitas poulet/crevettes délicieux, belle portion. Le riz mexicain super bon. Le tout très bien épicé sans être piquant😍 Breuvage alcoolisé beaucoup de choix, moi j’ai choisi la marguaritas réguliere en slush 😋 et la Sangria Azul 👍👍 À refaire sans hésitation car beaucoup de choix sur le menu. Bravo!“
