Today it was boneless chicken thigh with the later however the last time it was chicken breast. I much prefer thighs.

The food is truly authentic, and you can see how much heart the owners put into the place, they are there every day and are incredibly sweet. “Pho Bac 97 is easily one of the best comfort food spots in Verdun. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm, welcoming, and relaxed. The ambiance is simple but cozy, and the whole place feels genuinely authentic and family-run in the best possible way.

The lady serving us was incredibly kind, attentive, and polite the entire time. You can tell they really care about customers and take pride in what they do. Service was also impressively fast — our food came out super quickly even though the restaurant was busy.

Most importantly, the food was absolutely delicious. Everything tasted fresh, flavorful, and homemade. The broth was rich and comforting, the ingredients were fresh, and portions were generous without being overpriced. You get amazing quality for the price here, which is becoming rare these days. Very affordable and 100% worth it.

“If you want to have a basic meal in the center of Montreal, go to this place. It's located inside a big building at a food court with few other vendors, so you will get some choice. The meals are quite basic, pho soup is not as sophisticated as in other restaurants, but it's a good budget place to eat when you are touring Montreal. Walk around, there is a beautiful passage with a glass roof and a fountain, also some shops.

“I ordered a beef pho - it didn’t taste exactly like most pho I’ve had from other places and the noodles were quite short, but for its price the portion size isn’t bad at all and it was delicious anyway. The menu seems like it has good variety too.

The atmosphere isn’t entirely there because it’s literally a student cafeteria - there isn’t much atmosphere to be had.

Overall, I’d go back sometime, sure.“

You have to enter the back of the building, and the menu is outside as well as inside so if you are not satisfied with the prices you don't have to awkwardly leave the restaurant, perfect for the social anxious. not that it would be much of a problem, the prices are great for what you are getting!! upon entering I was greeted by a sweet old lady and she was very accommodating when I asked to to be seated further away because where she wanted to make me sit it was too cramped. she served me a glass of ice water and even put the jug right next to me! the wait was long maybe 15 to 30 mins for the meal with no Wifi but its definitely worth it! The portions are great and the food oh so delicious!! so delicious it made me like the (surprise!) mushrooms in my stir fry when I usually hate mushrooms.?‍ it was chicken that melts in your mouth, delicious veggies that imbibed with the sweet and sour sauce, served with a side of vermicelli and a weird crunchy fried rice thing i forgot the name. The guy was a bit cold but he wasn't straight up rude, maybe he was just shy like me.??‍♀️ Anyways upon paying he didn't try to sneakily slip an overcharge of a few extra dollars like some other family owned restaurants tried in the past with me like that pizza place one time. “FIVE STARS to this affordable takeaway hole in the wall and to the young woman who was working there on Tuesday night, March 10th, just before closing. I ordered a banh mi and a sushi platter. The banh mi was INCREDIBLE, the sushi was DELICIOUS, and the prices were better than any I've seen in quite a long time.

I had no idea the young woman was the only one behind the counter, which meant that not only was she taking orders, making sandwiches and prepping food (probably cleaning as well?) but she painstakingly made every single piece of sushi herself. I would recommend there be at least one more person behind the counter at all times (or that customers be warned it will take approximately 30 minutes to prepare their sushi order), but I commend the employee for handling the order so valiantly.
