“We were at the Brossard location. 9am Saturday, no waiting line. Nice, dynamic ambiance. Tables distribution excellent, not to close each other, places for solo, couples and groups. The attendants were very polite and well informed. Prices are competitive. They are different, with their own style. Not mass coffee serving, good quality of ingredients. Presentation of plates need improvement. I'll go back.“

“I've been wanting to experience Joe beef for a very long time. As you walk in, it felt very cozy and welcoming, as we were greeted by this very friendly hostess. The staff were efficient, and our waiter was great as well. He explained the menu in detail. We wanted to share some of the dishes as I knew it would be way too much food, and also because we've also ordered some appetizers. We took home so much food home, the portions for the shareable dishes were very generous. The wait for the food was on the longer side, as well as for the cocktails. Overall, the food was delicious, but my expectations were high, and I think I've expected a tad more, in some of the dishes.“

“My wife and I had a fantastic evening here on Friday. It has a warm atmosphere that made us want to stay much longer than we would have normally. The food was exquisite, and a good value for the quality provided. The wine list was extensive, featuring wines from several French regions, as well as some from Italy, Spain, US, and Canada. The servers were attentive, speaking French and English, and there was a sommelier on staff to help with the wine. The plates weren’t overly large, but we were quite filled after three courses, wine, and an aperitif. We are definitely coming back the next time we’re in town.“

“One of my favorite hotels ever!! Right in the heart of old Montreal, and a short walk to everything that Old Montreal has to offer. It sits on a beautiful cobblestone street, and is in an old, historic building. The rooms were beautiful, with windows that open to let in some great fresh air. I loved their little breakfast, which consisted of different breads each day, spread, cheese, and some cold pressed local juice. Just a top notch experience, and affordable too!“

“We went, my niece and I, into its deliberately styled Canadian interior where servers materialize like benevolent spirits, then hover perhaps a beat too long.

A multi course dinner starring venison which arrived as venison should: having surrendered gracefully to its fate. The seal - yes, seal - carried with it the weight of controversy and the Arctic, tasting of decisions made long ago about what constitutes food. One doesn’t encounter seal casually. The lobster bisque came disguised as cappuccino, a trompe-l’oeil that pleased in its deception, foam concealing richness beneath.

They brought us a medley. Medleys are democracies of the plate, each element granted equal space, if not equal impact.

But then: the caviar. Those small black pearls had committed the sin of desiccation, had become hard little accusations on the tongue. Too hard actually! We mentioned this. Twice. The response: a shrug. Not even a Gallic shrug with its implied philosophy, but a shrug of indifference. Some bargains, it seems, cannot be renegotiated.

Still, the evening held. My niece laughed. We ate what was good and noted what wasn’t, which is perhaps all one can do in restaurants as in life, bear witness, decide what to swallow, what to leave behind.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​“

“I love supporting restaurants that are part of a school. Students need to learn first hand.

ITHQ has a nice location and staff was very welcoming.

The magret de canard was what you would expect of the dish. We had turbot with couscous and strawberries, which I found a bit too sofistaced. I think that real talent shows when you can work with a limited number of ingredients.

“Such a hidden gem!! Waiter was great and the food and service was outstanding. We ended up having the Venison pot-au-feu style, which was this delicious deer with potatoes and veggies in a broth. We told the waiter that I love Pino Noir and so we ended up with a bottle of the Morgon. Will definitely come back next time we visit Montreal.“

“Gasperie Bistro Gourmand is actually located in what I would consider a food court. However, this is not a typical mall food court at Le Central. It is one of the coolest places I have seen anywhere in Canada!

When you walk into Le Central, you are greeted by loud music, dimmed lights, and a vibing atmosphere. Various types of foods and drinks are offered from the numerous stalls such as Gasperie Bistro Gourmand. You will find Italian pizza, Greek souvlaki, Japanese izakaya, or a nice Canadian bison burger. The latter was what I enjoyed from Gasperie Bistro Gourmand along with a nice pint of Gose sour.

The bison burger was flavourful. The beer was tasty and cold. The people around me sitting at the various communal long tables were all having a good time.

I highly recommend visitors or locals to visit Le Central and especially Gaspesie Bistro Gourmand in Montreal.“

Amazing personable service, the menu has something for everyone which is hard to do and their specials are seasonal and delicious.

Now the wines, they have a great and extensive wine list with great price points PLUS a huge cellar list. If you love wine you must come here and be treated to a great evening of food and wine.

Oh and the dessert menu is superb. Love restaurants where it's hard to choose what to eat because everything sounds and is delicious.
