“Checked out Bun Mam Ninh Kieu for a late weekday lunch. Food came out incredibly quick. A lot of hard to find dishes on their menu (bun oc, bun cha ca, banh khot, banh bot loc).

- Banh xeo ($17.00) - probably the best Vietnamese crepe I’ve had in a long time. Two large crispy portions with bean sprouts, shrimp, pork, onion and the usual side accompaniments
- Bun mam ($17.00) - shrimp, BBQ pork, fish, squid, eggplant and okra. Broth had good depth; liked the funky, slightly pungent flavour“

For those with electric vehicles down the street below St Catherine's there are 4 level 2 chargers so you can charge your car while enjoying this restaurant for 1 dollar an hour charge rate. Hostess and staff are friendly. Lots of students here but I cannot blame them because the price is the best bang for the buck. I took an extra large number 5 with one imperial roll. Next time I will take 2 rolls as they were very good. All prices on the menu are tax in. So basically cheaper than the other Vietnamese restaurants I've reviewed. “I stumbled upon this place on a weekend getaway with my husband. The bahn mi is so good that my husband and I picked up the grilled chicken and the classic ham bahn mi on friday night for supper and we went back again on Sunday for lunch before heading home. “If you want to have a basic meal in the center of Montreal, go to this place. It's located inside a big building at a food court with few other vendors, so you will get some choice. The meals are quite basic, pho soup is not as sophisticated as in other restaurants, but it's a good budget place to eat when you are touring Montreal. Walk around, there is a beautiful passage with a glass roof and a fountain, also some shops.

“I ordered a beef pho - it didn’t taste exactly like most pho I’ve had from other places and the noodles were quite short, but for its price the portion size isn’t bad at all and it was delicious anyway. The menu seems like it has good variety too.

The atmosphere isn’t entirely there because it’s literally a student cafeteria - there isn’t much atmosphere to be had.

“Pho Bac 97 has always been one of my favorite spots whenever I visit Montreal. It is right in Chinatown, which made it really easy to get to since our hotel was only a few minutes away.

The people here are honestly the best part. The owner, the male staff, and Hannah were so sweet and welcoming. They made us feel at home right away and it’s clear they can connect with anyone because they switch so easily between English, French, Vietnamese, Chinese, and probably even more languages. That kind of warmth really makes a difference.

We ordered two Pho Dac Biet XL bowls and one Bi Cuon roll, and with taxes and tip it came to around $50 for the two of us. The food was comforting, flavorful, and authentic. As someone who is part Vietnamese, I really appreciate when a restaurant captures those traditional flavors, and this one absolutely does. At the end they even gave us fortune cookies, which was such a simple but thoughtful little touch.

I’ll be honest, there is a strong smell around the bathroom area that can be a bit distracting, maybe from the age of the building or cleaning issues, but it didn’t take away from how kindly we were treated.

I still want to give five stars because this place feels special to me and the staff treat you like family. Thank you again for such a lovely experience. Sending love from Candy and family from Toronto. 😋🍜“

“Pho Anh Vu is located in the heart of downtown Montreal across of the AMC, it’s the perfect spot to experience the authentic taste of Vietnamese cuisine. This new restaurant opened 6 months ago offers delicious dishes and Pho soupes that hits the spot during those upcoming cold days. It is a very beautiful place nicely decorated and clean that is inviting.

The food was excellent, we ate everything on our plates! The employees or probably the owners were very nice and smiling! I even left a 25% tip because good service has become rarer.
$69 for two with tip included!

Since I really liked the seafood dish with crispy noodless from Nguyen Phi on CDN, that unfortunately was closed, we decided to go in and try it here, thinking that the experience could be similar. We were 3 at the table. We also ordered a third dish with shrimps, beef and chicken.

Without a doubt, the seafood, with noodless, as a whole, was better in the Nguyen Phi. There, the sauce was more flavorful, well seasoned. Richer and thicker. Here, it was like water.
As for the other dish, it was generally good, but according to my table companion, the shrimps were dry. So much so that he had a hard time removing them from the toothpick.
The service time was average. Nice atmosphere and clean place. Next time, I might try their Pho.“

“Phnom Penh is an absolute family classic; I've been coming here since as long as I can remember! Be prepared to wait, as there is almost always a line in the stairs, but this just proves how fantastic the food is! It’s completely worth the wait every time.

Don't let the modest exterior fool you; while the restaurant might look like nothing from the outside, the taste of the food is truly awesome. It even has the seal of approval from my Cambodian grandparents, which is the highest compliment you can get!

Their in-house drinks are great, and I love that the ingredients provided right on the table allow everyone to easily customize their own soup just the way they like it. Plus, they offer take-out if you’re short on time. A must-try spot for real Cambodian flavors!“
