We loved everything we tried. Brioche bread with garlic butter, the ravioli and papparedelles, steak, Caesar salad and chocolate cake. All delicious! My favourite was the ravioli.
The service by Hanna and Jacob was exceptional.“

“Je n'ai malheureusement pas de photo à l'appui, j'étais trop distrait par le délicieux repas. J'ai été pour la première fois hier à l'occasion de la fête des mères et ... on y retournera certainement pour la fête des pères ! Que dire, tout est parfait ? L'ambiance est conviviable. Les lieux sont ultra propres, incluant la salle de bain. Le service était impeccable et rapide. James fait le tour de tous les clients sur place pour s'assurer que tout est bon. Excellente initiative à la hauteur du restaurant. Je ne peux que chaudement recommander (et je suis quelqu'un de difficile !)“

“Went in for the first time with my girlfriend's for a nice lunch on a Saturday afternoon the place was not too full as it was after 2:00 in the afternoon but we were greeted by Mina a lovely girl who served us with a smile and the food was absolutely delicious I had a vegetarian sandwich with a salad my girlfriend's had pizza and the salad with chicken the owner Mike was there in a minute to introduce himself and to make sure that we enjoyed it ,it was like being at home ,great food,great atmosphere will be back without a doubt.“

“I somehow managed to be given the best seat in the house: next to the kitchen, and right next to the chef, Josh Crowe. The experience of sitting at the bar allowed me to better appreciate the inner workings of this 30-year old establishment. The staff were as kind and supportive of each other, as they were to the guests, who filled the restaurant, bar, and terrace on this warm May evening. I observed Chef Josh and co-owner Barbara Irwin continuously interacting with each staff member. I had never witnessed such a high level of communication, where information flowed seamlessly from the front of the restaurant to the kitchen and vice versa. My meal began with a great cocktail and was followed by a glass of Spanish red, which paired very well with the best pork chop that I have ever had. The 3-inch thick chop was perfectly cooked and the complex flavours of the dish melted together harmoniously. It has been a few years since my last meal there, but I will be back shortly to enjoy the social sidewalk terrace, which offers the best in NDG people watching. You may decide to go to the Tavern for the food, cocktails, and wine list, but you will also be treated to the culture that Barbara & Josh have established over the past decade. They have created something special and seem fully committed to maintaining the same high level of culinary experience and appreciation for their patrons. My overall impression of the Monkland Tavern is one highlighting a collaborative team approach, effective two-way communication, a concentrated attention to every detail of the dining experience, professional courtesy, and mutual respect. I was impressed and you surely will be too.“

“Came here on trivia night (happened to be in town) and getting to watch this as an outsider… What a community!! Gino is a boss. Love to judge an establishment by the quality of their bathroom… You may think this looks like a dive pub but it has the nicest women’s bathroom of almost any bar I’ve been to. Food was 10/10, exactly what I wanted from this place. Is this what life in Dorval looks like??“

“We went for Mother's Day brunch. It was ok however everything from meal items to coffee were lukewarm. Didn't think it was worth the price at all, even with the premium of this being an in terminal hotel restaurant. If I had to base going back on this one and only experience, I would not.“

“I was there on a Tuesday for a work function. There were a lot of us and the food still came out quick and was great! I had the fish and chips, they were delicious. One of my coworkers had the pig Nuckle, he said it was wonderful and would order it again. The service was on point with drinks and never let me go thirsty. I would recommend this place and would return.“

“We took our son and wife for their b/days on Sat. Oct 4 2025. No waiting, Place clean, ambience good, waiter great. It was our 1st time and in general the food was very good,(filet mignon, done to taste, Salmon, fries ,which were dry, tasteless and cold. Frozen fries are way tastier at the fast food restaurants; McDonald's, Harveys, A+W. etc. With a restaurant of this calibre we certainly expected fresh fries. It really spoiled our dinner, as we all chose fries with our meals. It's nearly insulting. If you don't have the facilities to offer fresh fries, then just serve baked or mashed. Sorry! it really left us with a bd taste in our mouths. Will we go again??? Not so sure! Sadly! P.S the stars are not right. Overall 4 stars, Food is 4 stars, service is 5 stars and atmosphere is 5 stars“
