“On the way to Balnea Spa, we stopped at Le Sage Brasseur in Cowansville. Robin and his wife Shirley Ann were super hospitable in letting us in at closing time, taking the time to share their knowledge of the area, and serving us some of the incredible beer. We had a fantastic “experimental” IPA brewed with a single hop, some really lovely beer brewed with black currants (I don’t usually like fruit beers, but this one was excellent), and a really smooth Wit beer with hints of orange and spice. They also serve food. A most excellent experience and highly recommended!!!”

“Delightful cozy and delicious. Family friendly, warm and welcoming. We had the Zurich style veal with mushrooms and spazl, and the spaghetti carbonara with pancetta, chives, parmesan, and egg. Both were wonderfully rich and delicious. Imagine the perfect veal mushroom sauce soaked up with a fresh crust of french bread...and youll be close the the heavenly meal we had. The meatball was a bit small in my opinion, and I found the burger a bit dry. The homemade bunn was a nice touch, but it was not freshly made, and I think it would have been better, if it had been heated before serving.For dessert I had an espresso and a slice of brownie. The brownie was pretty disappointing - cold since it came straight out of the refrigerator, and it seemed dry, so probably a few days old. The espresso was good though.I am sure the atmosphere would be great here on a summer evening with friends and some musicians playing.”

“Amazing restaurant! I waited a few months before trying this place out. Let me just say, I’ve now found my new local restaurant to go with my better half on our date nights. From our arrival to our departure the service was perfect with our waitress/partial owner Denise. I’m a beer enthusiast and in this restaurant it is all locally sourced and the beers are some of the better ones that I’ve already enjoyed in the past. Also being a foodie the food was very well prepared and portions were very adequate. I enjoyed the ribs which were meatier than usual in which I greatly enjoyed.”

“This is a lovely little restaurant located on the shore of a lake in Cowansville. The town itself is beautiful with its gardens and historical buildings lining the main street. It is well worth taking a a stroll down the street after your meal. We stopped in here for lunch on a late-July day. The parking lot and restaurant are small. You enter, read the menu, and order at the register. They prepare your meal and deliver it to your table. Note that this place is vegan, but they do have meat dishes for those who want them. We stayed with the vegan and ordered the gallette betterave (beet) burgers and the soup of the day. For desert, I ordered a seasoned cranberry bar. We chose to sit out in chairs at the lake shore and you should too if the weather is good. The view was very nice and the late-July weather was near perfect for us. Our food arrived in waves and we enjoyed our soup and then our red beet burgers. Everything was great, but the iced tea was especially flavorful. The cranberry bar was a bit crumbly, but still very flavorful. If there was any negative to the experience, it was the temperature of the veggie burger. Those were stored frozen and ours was not heated all the way through. Still, the taste was great and we enjoyed them. We definitely plan to return to this place.”
