The upper level was hosting about 100 high school students on a field trip. We sat at the bar and were immediately acknowledged by the busy bartender, Marina. She brought menus & waters and took our drink orders. I had a spicy Bloody Maria ($6.75) & my bride had a white wine ($10). I had a loaded, juicy burger w/ frites ($20) and she had the chicken Caesar salad ($16). Well prepared, burger hot & salad cold-perfect. “Just ordered a small snack and it totally hit the spot. I had the smoked Brisket Bao with Korean BBQ sauce chili crunch, cucumber, sesame, and coriander, perfect size, super flavorful, and really well packaged. The meat was tender and full of flavour!

I actually despise most of the beer they all make. There’s really only two places I love their beer and 4 origines is one of them. Their brown ale is spot on. It actually tastes like a brown English ale. No hoppy ipa bullshit taste. No garbage sweetness/no notes of nonsense molasses or honey crap. It’s just GOOD!“

“We spent an afternoon at the Terrasse of the restaurant we had a couple of beers and cocktails and something to eat.
We changed the times the table because of the sun and the bees. And our waitress was very nice and funny and it was absolutely no problem.
I really like the beer menu and I'd you are not sure which beer you want to drink ask the waiters, they give great recommendations!“

“This was our first time at Origine Brass and overall it was an excellent experience. Friendly service and we enjoyed trying 4 different beers and the food was excellent. I had the artichoke and goat cheese pizza, one friend had the shrimp and lobster roll with fries, another had the burger (2 huge patties) with fries. The fries are excellent. I am not a beer drinker but I enjoy this type of establishment as they have several varieties that are delicious. All in all a fun night and we will be back!“

For me the food was an adjunct as the main purpose here was really the beer. There is a limited choice but what they did was well cooked and pleasant to eat. The staff here were far superior to anywhere else in Montreal, many of whom were quite surly. But here they were great.“

Located between Christophe-Colomb Ave and the RJ (GMT) Brewery, the building used to house Grolsch Canada Inc, which is distributed by GMT. Although the building has been part of the brewery for years, it's only last year brewpub project came too light, under Jan-Philippe Barbeau, best known for MacKroken Flower and the Loup Rouge Brewery. It opened to the public for the first time last Friday, so it's very young, however it's been brewing for months now selling cans in limited retail stores. The north end of the brewpub is were the large patio is located and so far the only place open. There is no food for now because the kitchen is not ready. In the front the indoor pub, but is not open, but it looks fairly big. Bathrooms are on the De La Roche Street side of the building, all very accessible and the staff is quit friendly. “I had been warned that the smoke meat sandwich was a bit light on the portion side. They were not wrong. It still tasted pretty food but the fries were cold (thankfully, the Waitress got me a brand new, steaming hot mini-bucket of fries).

The problem is that Archibald has become complacent. I've been before both at the airport and in Montréal but the food and portions were better.

Just because you have a kepted-market doesn't mean the food has to be mediocre.

Let me be clear, the service was exceptional. She let me linger as I had a longer than expected wait.“
