“We were craving Jamaican food, looked for a well-rated restaurant on Google Maps and ended up at Faybee's. Faybee's Restaurant offers Caribbean cuisine and has many Jamaican dishes on the menu. One of the cooks is Jamaican.

We had the jerk chicken, which was one of the best we have eaten outside of Jamaica. It is grilled over charcoal, which brings the typical taste. Well seasoned but not too spicy. The sauce is served separately, with extra spice added. You can adjust the sharpness yourself, which we found very good. There are also rice and peas and fried plantain.

The portion is generous with the included small salad. We also had festivals that were similar to those we know from Jamaica. Crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside.

Faybee's Restaurant is more of a snack bar in size. There are 2 tables for 4 people each and 3 seats on bar stools by the window. In summer you can also sit outside. The decoration is like a diner in Jamaica. A lot of it is take away, so there is a lot of coming and going, but it's fun to watch. Faybee's Restaurant has many regular customers.

We received a very hospitable welcome and service and had an overall pleasant and enjoyable experience at Faybee's Restaurant in Montreal.

Vegetarian options: Vegetarian dishes are also offered.

Parking: We came by bus, which stops almost in front of the door.“

“I tried the curry goat roti with pumpkin, the pumpkin was such an amazing touch. Their homemade pepper sauce was also unlike anything else I’ve ever tried. One of the best roti’s in the city but I just wish it was a bigger portion. I’m excited to try more of the menu.“

“One of the only griot places I've ever eaten from where the pasta salad was not only properly seasoned but actually good. Griot itself was very good, and they had the meat itself in sauce as well as a sauce cup on the side, most places you never have enough sauce. Downside being if you don't keep the takeout box perfectly flat sauce spills out. The djon djon rice unfortunately had a bunch of rock hard chunks in it, like it had sat out drying in the steam table uncovered. Otherwise a very good meal and good value.“

“I've heard about this West Indian gem of a restaurant for years and finally made a trip with my mom some weeks ago. I ordered a regular and jerks doubles, a Sorrel and an Aloo pie. Fantastic. Was happily greeted by two very happy employees. The jerk meal on point. The patties were good. I need a jerk chicken fix minimum once a month as my hubby can't handle anything with spices or a bit spicy. I always get the hot pepper sauce on the side to greedily dip my chicken into it. Satisfies every craving ❤️

Authentic dishes of the Islands, Oxtail is to die for, the Jerk chicken is on point. Corn bread super moist and has good bounce to it when you bite it - even a plantain poutine was a pleasant surprise. Come back a few times to try everything in the menu, I promise it won't dissapoint.“

We were visiting from Florida and decided to stop by Dutty Yea — what a fantastic choice! We were so impressed by both the taste and the presentation of the dishes. We ordered the Dutty Nonnie and the Pon Pon Jerk, and both were absolutely delicious — perfectly seasoned, fresh, and full of authentic flavor. You can tell a lot of care goes into every plate. We also enjoyed the ice cream, vanilla and vanilla/raspberry swirl, and they were both so good! I highly recommend both dishes and the ice cream, and can’t wait to visit again the next time we’re in town!“

“The Peri Peri chicken sandwich is something out of this world with the crisp veggies, mayo, spicy Pery Pery sauce and slightly charred taste of the chicken. So much better than any other Portuguese restaurant I've been to. It's full of spices and flavour. This restaurant gives very big portions too. My order from this place is: Peri Peri chicken, 1 small salad, 1 Pastel de Nata and a pineapple Sumol can. It's all about 20$ but it fills you up.“

“Visited here on a return trip with my 14yr old to show him my go to spot for patties and Rock cake back in the 90's. Sadly though the patties aren't the same anymore but I'm happy to say the rock cake is just as good as I remember, you can still smell the aroma of them baking in back of the store just like I remember as a kid growing up. This is a must stop for me to grab a few packs of rock cake to take back to Toronto.“

“I’m surprised by the low rating. This place makes amazing griot. The meat is tender and flavorful, the rice and beans are great, and the macaroni salad balances everything perfectly. They include a tasty sauce (probably meat juices), and the large portion is worth the extra $3. It’s my go-to for griot. Highly recommend! I will try to had pictures next time I order.“
