“It is a great spot for an African food lunch time. We can call and order our food so when you arrive there will be less waiting time. The Menu is a great dish from the Congo. We have our family appreciated the quality of the mealsNo sitting table inside, just take and goI recommend this location for an African dishVegetarian options: Magnoc leaf dish“
“Venez le soir pour vivre une expérience incroyable et dynamique. Entre musique, jeu d’instruments, danse, maquillage, et autres activités, sans oublier la nourriture qui est de qualité et grosse quantité. J’ai eu une super soirée avec ma famille, mention spéciale au chikwangue fait maison qui est vraiment bon (parole de congolaise)!“
“Very warm homey place and the food was very good! My mother who lived in Algeria for 10 years says it tasted like her childhood. I highly recommend, especially for those who have never tried North African cuisine before. Service was great too!“
“I confirm it’s very good! I really liked. Well seasonedI've never eaten there so I can't rate the atmosphereOn the other hand, in fact I add to other comments, the portions for take-out orders need to be reviewed. Thank you!☺️“
“Fish Well seasoned but burnt, too bad we didn't take the trouble to scrape at least the burnt areas. For plantain, I think it would be preferable to ask the customer's opinion before adding salt. Not everyone likes the salty sugar taste.Bissap juice is delicious but with too many flavors, we no longer find the taste of bissap itself.“
“Right in front of Espace 215 for Montreal dancers. Super nice owner. Still open at 12:00-1:00 am. Senegalese Poutine Yassa. Amazing! Plantains, cheese and caramelized onions. ? Perfect Quebec-Senegal fusion!! Come on dancers, after your evening, check if it’s still open. Do not miss. Great quality of food. Yum! #studio88swing #JazzHotMontreal #danseImprov“
“Very good restaurant, especially to discover Ivorian dishes ??! The dishes are very tasty and generous in portion, we are always well served on each visit. There is a nice variety for all tastes, fish, vegetarian dishes and especially grilled meats! Other than the dishes, what we appreciate most is the welcome and the vitality of the team !“
“Market which has just opened and rather clean. The lady who owns this shop is very kind and polite (her daughter too). I found products from home (ndolè, miondo, cassava leaves and WHITE PEPPER POWDER (which I often have difficulty finding elsewhere)).Her braised chicken is really good (she offered it to me when I had finished my shopping and I don't regret having taken it).I really recommend it. Always happy to see enterprising people like you!P.S: small suggestion, remember to label (the names + prices) ALL the products on the shelves (I saw products that I didn't know and which were not identified).“
“Good evening, today I ordered fufu, beef gumbo soup, and red sauce with beef. Very very delicious. A very welcoming place. Me and my mother loved the fufu and the soups from Akwaba. The lady and the very kind chef the best African restaurant in Montreal. Very reasonable price. The dishes are cooked fresh and with lots of love. The Akwaba restaurant is my family.“
“Loved the meat tajines (chicken and veal). Perfectly cooked, well balanced flavors... brought me back to morocco and my moroccan grandmother's cooking. The food is well presented, the atmosphere is nice (just needs a moodier lighting) and how is this place not buzzing!!! The only one that made me taste morocco in my plate.“
“This is a must try when in Montreal. Never have I given 5 stars to any place with wait times as horrible as here but when you finally get the food, you’ll understand why a perfect score is the only appropriate rating for this place. Whole spicy BBQ chicken is even better here than in authentic Jamaica! This is Best Of Montreal Top 5!!“
“Place looked Mid.I mean Africans can do better, food was good no cap. They served us tap water in this green bottle lol you might think its something special but its tap water, and that bottle looks unkept. We enjoyed the food honestly it was good(7.5/10) nothing beats Ghanaian food no cap.Goat meat and rice (7.5/10)Plaintain (8.5/10)Orange juice tasted like it was store bought(5/10)“
“Delicious food, service and presentation! We tried multiple dishes as well as both desserts, and everything tasted extremely comforting and delicious! The service is really good too, the server took her time to explain everything to us about the dishes and we also had some help pairing a perfect wine with the dishes! Highly recommended!!“
