“Always a nostalgic meal at Chalet Bar-B-Q, a must-visit when we return home for comforting and familiar Montreal food, along with smoked meat and bagels, of course! The decor is dated but that is what makes it so charming. Chicken is always perfectly cooked – they are the only ones in Montreal still allowed to use charcoal, and their's is red cherrywood. It complete elevates the chicken. French fries are plentiful and perfect, especially with their nonstop supply of sauce. I want to also mention Tina, our server, who is joy personified and the most attentive waitperson imaginable. She took the best possible care of us and we left with full bellies and smiles on our faces.“

“Pretty tasty chicken. We were just passing by and decided to walk in and glad we did. You can sit down or takeout at the restaurant, we decided to sit down.

We ordered the “table d’hôte” which was a great way to try a lot of menu items. It was quite filling and we had to get half of the food packed along with the dessert.

The chicken was nice a juicy and their bbq sauce was very delicious. It had a nice tangy and smoky flavour. I also really liked the croquettes and olives. The ribs fell off the bone.

Would definitely eat here again! Also love the logo… so cute!“

“This is our first meal when we first arrived in Montreal at 9 pm. It was raining and this is one of the nearest restaurant near our Airbnb. The grilled chicken on salad was great with many choice of condiment. We ordered two Rouge Bowls and two mini Rouge. There is option of white rice, brown rice or lettuce. It's like Chipotle but grilled chicken.“

“A bit of a disappointing experience.
We ordered truffle fries and boneless honey butter chicken. The fries were not homemade, lukewarm, and tasted nothing like truffle, instead it tasted only pamassan. We told the waiter and they gave us another fries plate, this time pretty hot without truffle flavor but it’s still appreciated. And the honey butter chicken tasted really good with the sauce, just too much crispy with not enough chicken. It’s the second time I visit there, again a bit disappointed. Btw, the dished takes a looooooong time 30 minutes for just fries and 1 hour for the fried chicken and it’s noisy.“

“I can see now why this place is so popular. On my first visit the staff was really nice, showing me the options and asking me if I wanted any of the add ons. You chose how much chicken you want, 3 or 4 slices, and which sauce to use. They have a nice selection, the spicy version which I took was not very spicy, which was what the server had told me. But then you also get two bases (rice, bulgur wheat, quinoa or lettuce) and also you get 6 very fresh topping and a sauce. The food was very good, the chicken tasted great and all the toppings were fresh, even the side of tzatziki was good. Definitely a good choice for some fast food.“

“It was the best fried chicken we’ve had in a long time!!! 🥹😍 The spaghetti reminds me of Jollibee. I love that it has so much sauce. The bbq was tender, easy to eat and the shanghai was good too! “I was craving chicken wings while walking in downtown Montreal, so I checked Google and found a Korean-owned chicken restaurant. I ordered 2 drumsticks and 6 wings, half coated with their sweet and spicy garlic sauce, and it was the best part. The regular fried chicken wasn’t that great but was very crunchy and served hot. The fries that came with it were also good. The owner was very nice. I’d rate it 9 out of 10 and definitely recommend it.“
