“Exhausted after a park day with the kids, we grabbed some ice cream at On S'bourre La Fraise Bar Laitier. The tofu kiwi flavor was a surprising hit—strange combo, but the kids loved it. The chocolate vanilla swirl was also tasty. Note: it’s a small spot next to a house, cash-only, with limited seating and street parking.“

“Actual gelato in Laval, hard to believe I know. I was finally able to find good pistachio ice cream in here as well. So far I’ve tasted their classic pistachio and their tiramisu flavours and they were both excellent. Looking forward to going back one day!

They also have flavours for people with allergies and dietary restrictions. Went with my grandma who doesn’t consume regular milk and with my niece who is allergic to nuts.

“This ice cream shop is easy to miss from the outside and we found it at random. The flavours and options are varied and interesting. The prices are more than fair for the quantity. The soft serve has vanilla, chocolate, or mixed. For a medium, I paid around $4-5. Everything is vegetarian since it is only ice cream and gelato. There was only one staff in the shop and quite a few customers so she was doing her best. The soft serve machine was not ready yet and she was super nice and friendly about it. I paid first to allow her to process the other customers and she called me when it was ready some minutes later. The interior is bright and warm. A great summer dessert option for a casual evening or to pick up for a walk in the nearby parks.

I've also had conversations with the owners Julie and Chris. Both are incredibly friendly and such sweet people. I learned that this cute little spot is Chris' passion project and it shows. I ate a matcha daifuku, a yuzu-blueberry mochi cheesecake and a mochi cookie. They were all delicious but I had a preference for the biscuit and the daifuku, they are worth the detour. The staff is smiling, fast and very welcoming. The place is a little small for the customers who pass by so there is not always a seat, but they have the opinion of taking away.
