“I’m disabled and found it easy to walk into the place. It wasn’t overly crowded but had enough people to make it feel very lively! I started with the tortilla soup, then had the fish tacos and to drink I tried the strawberry Jarritos and a sip of their margarita which I’d have again on a warm day ☀️ Everything was delicious, the staff was patient and courteous. I felt very comfortable and I’m already planning my next visit for the springtime!“

Ordered the torta aseda, and my boyfriend ordered the taco and both we're 5/5, the service is quick, the man was wonderful, the vibe is nice everything about this place is wonderful and we will definitely be back! “We had a nice dinner, great outdoor space. The cocktails were not anything special but they were okay. The food was good. Service was fine but not on par with other places we've been in Montreal. It was easy to get in and perfectly good for an easy dinner.“

“Amazing authentic Mexican restaurant in Verdun! Both drinks and the food were amazing. We were happily impressed by the ceviche, and their tacos (especially the lamb ones) are to die for. Of course we got margaritas and they did not disappoint!“

“I'm Parisian and I can tell you that what I ate here was incredibly delicious. In Paris I tended to eat Chipotle but here it's different, it was an incredible experience and I highly recommend this restaurant. Top-notch service, welcoming waiters, a very Mexican atmosphere with all this decoration.

“Très bon sans réservation, ils nous ont accueilli avec le sourire. Les fajitas poulet/crevettes délicieux, belle portion. Le riz mexicain super bon. Le tout très bien épicé sans être piquant😍 Breuvage alcoolisé beaucoup de choix, moi j’ai choisi la marguaritas réguliere en slush 😋 et la Sangria Azul 👍👍 À refaire sans hésitation car beaucoup de choix sur le menu. “A little hidden gem, friendly staff, authentic restaurant and the food is delicious. Probably the best Mexican restaurant on the South Shore.
Vegetarian options: Just asking the owner is very accommodating he made me a special mix of grilled vegetables for my tacos and even suggested I bring my own tofu next time he will season it for me and grill it a nice open of spirit!“

“Really great Mexican restaurant, was one of my favorite so far, big portions and great food. The shrimps tacos were really fresh, the pizzadilla was loaded with meat and was nice and crispy, they serve it with lots of sauces on the side and service was great, will definitely come back to grab another bite!“

“Their food is delicious! And they have horchata which is so good. But the best part is that they have a grocery part with products that are kind of hard to find unless you live near those latino grocery stores in Montreal. Authentic and Mexican. Absolute must try!!Seriously though, the horchata is crazy delicious.“

“The food is absolutely delicious! I would say the only negative about this place is the service. I came in when there was nobody else and the 2 staff members didn’t acknowledge me as I waited. I could tell they were filling up the food bins and didn’t mind waiting. A simple, “be with you soon” would have been great. Instead they ignored me until they were done. Other than that, amazing place and will definitely be back again!“

“Imagine going back to your hometown after a while and going to your grandparents. That is El Amigo in a nutshell
Reservation by phone. On location, not a cat. Only us and the only staff/front of house/cook/etc. Menu: extensive. Atmosphere: drama in Spanish on the TV. Decor: inside your parents house. Not wheelchair accessible. Bring your own wine/beer. Food made on order. Came pretty quick. Good portions. Tasty. Had the restaurant for ourselves until 20:00 came. Then 11 + 2 came at once. Staff overwhelmed but did his job.
Good prices.
TL;DR: come with good company, good wine or beer, and patience and enjoy the pupusas.“
“Surprisingly awesome airport find! We stopped by Carlos & Pepe’s at Montreal airport and had a great experience. We ordered the steak nachos and vampiro tacos, paired with a passion fruit mojito and a glass of white wine. Everything was flavorful, fresh, and super tasty.
The vibe and decor really stood out—it honestly didn’t feel like we were at an airport at all. Chill atmosphere, nice lighting, and a space that made us forget we were in transit.
There was a bit of a wait for the food, but the staff let us know in advance, so no surprises there. And for airport dining, the prices were totally reasonable.
If you’re passing through YUL and craving some solid Mexican food in a relaxing setting, definitely check this place out!“

“Came for supper with family. Had a great meal, the food was excellent. The ambiance inside was nice and service was friendly without being too intrusive or rushed. Would highly recommend the nachos, fish tacos, quesadillas and the arrachera tacos. As the sign says life is short, eat more tacos!“
