“Took my toddler here Monday and my only regret with coming here is that we’ve lived in North Smithfield for several years and this was our first time coming! My son (almost 3) loved seeing the cows and trucks that were set up there. We went inside to get a snack and he started having a mini meltdown because he wanted to go back outside. An employee (wish I got her name) came from behind the register and gave him a couple stickers and told me I was doing a great job, which really means a lot when you feel like you’re doing something wrong as a mom. I appreciate that woman more than she realized! 💕 I ordered a cream puff and 2 chocolate chip cookies. When the employee from behind the counter handed me my box she let me know she gave us an extra cookie! The employees really were amazing. “I was excited to hear that Hometown Poke opened up a café in the Mount Hope area. The owners are extremely friendly and hardworking, and so I was happy to see their dreams unfolding. Additionally, I really enjoy the fact that Hometown Poke sources their ingredients and products locally whenever possible from New England vendors, meaning when you support them you are supporting our community. The café is very spacious, with a combination of large and small tables to accommodate all guests sizes. The decorations are trendy, minimalist, and overall a great space for dining or enjoying a cup of coffee. When you’re ready to order, you can choose from one of their signature bowls or build your own. I decided to build my own poke bowl with mixed greens, chicken, and all the fixings that I liked. Truly a wonderful and delicious experience! And just an FYI, their protein portions are large compared to most poke places! I decided to try their South Toast which had ricotta, sea salt, thick cut bacon and local honey. It was delicious! I need to try the others next time i visit. The decor is just fabulous, ample seating with shades so that you can soak up the sun without getting a sunburn. Truly an atmosphere suitable for anyone! It was very obvious and blatant disrespect to me. My husband even commented on feeling uncomfortable. As a former bartender the general rule is to pay more attention to the wife than the husband out of respect but also because most often the wife is writing the tip. We will for sure be going back but will sit at a table and maybe only order sparkling water.“
