“My third stop on the RI Food Fights trail brought me to OZ Tacos and Tequila. And after the day I had today at the office ...tequila was needed. It's a bustling Friday night, but I was able to find a seat at the bar. After a few moments I was brought a menu and I immediately ordered the house margarita. It came quickly, strong, tart and a little sweet. For the fight, you get your choice of two tacos, minus the lobster esquites. They have quite the creative combinations but I went with two Mojo Pork. You don't have to do two of the same but I chose to. As I waited for my food, I noted the decor. Oz is aptly named, it has a Wizard of Oz theme...if it was located in a Mexican cantina in the 60s. Andy Warhol style art, grass walls, an extensive tequila selection and Nancy Sinatra singing about her boots give a chaotic vibe in the mostly complementary way possible. I loved it. My tacos arrived and after quickly getting my pictures out of the way, I squeezed my lime and dug in. Holy moly was it good. Succulent roasted pork tenderly shredded with the tangy sweetness of the tamarind glaze juxtaposed against the heat from the cherry peppers delights the taste buds. Then the herbaceous cilantro cuts through to lift and brighten the taco to a truly delicious experience. I am so glad I got two of them because one wasn't enough. My only regret is I didn't realize one taco had four slices of cherry pepper and the other only had one. I would have distributed the peppers accordingly but the one slice was big enough that I could stretch it across the whole taco and enjoy it just as much as the first one. I was still hungry after the tacos so I ordered a side of the Mexican Street Corn (served off the cob) and a side of chips. Now, a lot of times when people say Mexican Street Corn off the cob it's just esquites and they use an Americanized term for marketability. In this case, this was like they made an elote and then cut it off the cob into the bowl. Salty, cojita cheesy and tangy with the extra lime, it hit the spot with some chips. They have the thicker style tortilla chips, great for holding fat bites of corn! You could see the clusters of kernels confirming freshly shelled corn. I ended up taking the rest home to enjoy another time. With my time here at an end I left full and happy I found another tasty spot to visit again.“

It’s been a long time since I was able to return since they moved from their old location. The staff was extremely friendly and service was fast. I will definitely be back and highly recommend!“

“This has been my husband and I’s go to place for the last few years. Over the last couple of months we have noticed a decline in portions. While we understand that prices are higher for food, you really shouldn’t bump down in quality, just raise the price if you need to. People may not noice a slight uptick in price but definitely notice the portion size. My husband always favors a whole belly clam and scallops plate and last night he was served that combo with only two whole bellies, the rest were just batter pieces and four scallops that were overcooked , it was so disappointing. My surf and turf was downsized from three baked stuffed shrimp down to two and the prime rib was much smaller. While we could have said something, it should have been noticed before it left the kitchen! We are not people to complain and the staff is always great but I guess my point is, we noticed and may think twice before returning and that saddens us.“

“Green Wok has been my happy place for over 2 years now! Their teriyaki beef strips are a party in my mouth - the beef is tender and juicy, and the teriyaki glaze is bursting with flavor. I pair it with their vegetable fried rice, which is always soft, fluffy and delicious! The service is friendly and always makes me feel like a valued customer. If you're looking for amazing vegan food that tastes fresh and is made with quality ingredients, then Green Wok is a must-try!“

“A couple of the dishes were really good - the kofta was so well seasoned and the chicken shawarma plate was great. I would definitely come back just for these dishes.

While the ingredients tasted fresh, I would not recommend the tabbouleh (soupy and oily) or falafel (dry and incredibly salty). The hummus was good, but I would've liked to see the price be more at about $7 for the size versus $9 (about 1.25 cups).

The interior is small and clean. There are some tables/booths inside if you're looking to scarf down your food onsite or a place to sit while you're waiting to-go.

We started with the Truffle fries and the Crispy Duck Meatballs- oh my both were great! The flavor in the Duck meatballs was amazing! The sweet chili glaze just hits it out of the park! “I finally stopped by Three Wishes Bakery in Johnston RI. Can I say I was so impressed and excited and happy. It was like a classic RI bakery with all the most beautiful pastry and donuts I have ever seen in a gluten free bakery. I wanted to buy it all. My husband and I shared two donuts at home, one was the creme brûlée and the other a Boston creme. Soooo good. We ate the cinnamon twists in the car on the way home. We were both making lots of yummy noises. I also tried their sandwich rolls which were delicious. Soft and flavorful unlike other gluten free rolls I have bought. The spinach pies were our lunch and they didn’t disappoint with the raspberry twists for our dessert. I will now be a regular at Three Wishes Bakery. Finally a bakery I can enjoy.“

The bacon was so good, we brought some home. I had surf and turf, the hubby had the NY strip . Both steaks cooked to perfection ( seen with a light to make sure) . I was only able to eat my lobster tail because I was full, but wow, giant, cooked perfect and tasted so good, you did not need the butter! My husband loved his NY strip as well. We are big steak people ! We will be back , we usually go to another steakhouse in the area for our anniversary, but I think we have a new place!!! Thank You for a wonderful night Capital Grille !!“

“Location/decor/ambiance: the owners have tried to turn the spacious brick and beam interior of a former factory building into a ghetto-ish inner cityscape skateboard park using graffiti-style airbrush graphics, little skateboards that serve as bar chair seat backs, concrete floors painted with Providence manhole covers, etc. Visually, the effect is mixed. I “get” what the owners are trying for, but it isn’t for me an “attractive” dining decor. It looks much more like a dance club for young twenty-somethings. I quickly adjusted to the inner-city grunge decor, but what we couldn’t adjust to was the VERY loud rap/hip-hop music blaring out of some very robust speakers non-stop. Talking was difficult. Yes, I’m an older person, but I don’t begrudge anyone their musical sensibilities… provide its not full of “***** and “nigga” and roaring out at at least 90 decibels. Whatever they’re trying to be, they need to remember that they are l (at 10 am) a restaurant, not a dance club. Food & service: unexpectedly, given the above criticism, the food was outstanding, I mean really good. Caught us off guard. Just beautifully imagined and realized. Would I return? Probably not. Even the great food cant quite overcome the soundscape. Interesting place, though“
