“The food is excellent and the staff are friendly and responsive to the customers.BUT I am deeply concerned about the extremely low pay that they are paid! Until this issue is addressed in a fair & equitable way acceptable to the staff, I Will NOT buy any further food from any of their locations.”

“This store could really benefit from having an on-site manager or lead to help oversee operations. There always seems to be one employee handling the bulk of the work and fixing others’ mistakes. I wish I remembered his name because he truly deserves recognition for his effort and professionalism. I’ll be sure to update this once I get his name.
The one star ⭐ I gave for Service, was only for that one employee. He deserves 1000000 stars. I watch him run the sandwich line, handle the drive thru, fix mistakes that the other employees make, mentor and train those other employees when they are making an order incorrectly, and all of this while he is putting together his own orders! Give that man a raise and a promotion!!!
Unfortunately, my last visit wasn’t a great experience. One of the female staff members gave me a bad attitude when I politely asked if she could stir the sugar that was sitting at the bottom of my cup. Instead of simply explaining there wasn’t any sugar left or offering to add more, she responded rudely, saying “there’s nothing on the bottom.” When I clarified that our usual order is 6 and 6 (not extra extra or 4 and 4), she continued to argue and raise her voice. My husband and I decided to just leave with our coffees rather than escalate things. Sadly, the coffee was burnt and tasted like it had been sitting for a long time instead of being rotated regularly.
This location has potential — especially thanks to the hardworking employee I mentioned, but it really needs stronger management and more consistent customer service.
Having been a Cafe Manager for over 15 years on Thames Street in downtown Newport, I am able to see aspects of customer service that most people miss. This location has great potential, especially with that young man leading the way.

“I had the sandwich of the day on Saturday which was the Ultimate BMT sandwich, chips, bottled water for $7.50. Sandwich was delicious! Service was a new guy on his 3rd day working by himself. He tried hard and hustled. Subway was busy with those app orders. Store was very clean!!! I will be back!”

“Nothing to do with their food, everyting to do with their customer service..Today (5/19/2023) I came into the store around... Maybe 8/8:15pm .. and the employee that took my order, First and foremost thank you for just noticing me..It was not one of my best moments.. not being able to keep myself together to order a simple happy meal for my son.. but just the fact that you asked me if I was okay, and then being mid-shift told me you had time if I needed to talk. There is nothing I could ever say to thank you enough! I still cried like the biggest baby after LOL, but the world needs more people like you!I am so sorry I was not able to get your name, but please understand I will forever be grateful for what you did. Something others take for granted meant so much to me tonight and you being a total stranger, it meant a lot. Like I said I will never be able to thank you enough!”

“I typically don't review fast food establishments. However I had not been to a Popeye's Chicken in probably 25 years or so. My 11-year-old son for his birthday had the request to eat at Popeye's Chicken and then go to the movies. Ultimately we went to Popeye's Chicken. I do have to say the establishment was extremely clean, the staff were very friendly and helpful. We ordered our food which was ready in a timely fast food like manner. We did end up missing one sandwich. Which was given to us without any fuss and also in a timely manner with an apology. I do have to say the food was quite delicious at least for the chicken. Everybody seem to like their meals. There was 10 of us total. The chicken was definitely very greasy but did in my opinion have a perfect amount of crisp as well as the opinions of the others I was with. The mashed potatoes that I got for a side were definitely steamed and didn't taste that great. But I don't think you go to Popeye's Chicken for the mashed potatoes. Maybe you do. Not a place that I would need to go back to for myself. My son on the other hand who turned 11 enjoyed it quite a bit and wants to go back.”

“This little restaurant, raw bar, bar bar is not messing around. They handle their shellfish perfectly, cold, crazy fresh, and masterfully shucked. I recommend just a dash of the mignonette to just highlight the delicious flavors of the posters. The bartender told me the raw scallops have never left the menu so I ordered them. I can see why they're almost a signature of GH. The bok choy pancake is really good but strangely filling. Plenty for 2.

The cocktails are well mixed.

“A couple of the dishes were really good - the kofta was so well seasoned and the chicken shawarma plate was great. I would definitely come back just for these dishes.

While the ingredients tasted fresh, I would not recommend the tabbouleh (soupy and oily) or falafel (dry and incredibly salty). The hummus was good, but I would've liked to see the price be more at about $7 for the size versus $9 (about 1.25 cups).

The interior is small and clean. There are some tables/booths inside if you're looking to scarf down your food onsite or a place to sit while you're waiting to-go.

I would be interested to try their pizza next time!”

Luckily, right around the corner was Aguardente, which is a Guatamalen & Portuguese tapas restaurant. Love the interior decorations and warm welcoming vibe. We started with quejo de cabra, rellenitos, & the minha caiparinha. Then we had the batatas fritas, empanadas de pollos, polvo grelhado, & almondegas. Everything from the service to all of the dishes being seasoned perfectly and tasted amazing.”
