I came down to Charleston, a couple of weekends ago with a friend, and found this place on Google Maps while looking for a place to eat. The food was phenomenal! I felt like I was eating at my grandma's house. Definitely a great to get some great food! We're definitely coming back here whenever we come back to Charleston.
I was a patron at Gail’s Soul Food on this evening (4/4/26) and the customer service was absolutely phenomenal. The ladies responsible for my order and payment were such a delight and extremely courteous by their tone, mannerisms, and genuine hospitality…very kind and polite overall.
went yesterday and got the turkey wing meal with cabbage, Mac and cheese and candied yams....also brought a veggie plate with cornbread,collards, rice and gravy and candied yams.
1st the yams were very stringy- had to spit out strings in every bite.( I know everyone likes what they like ) to me they were sweet but had too much nutmeg in it for me
2nd the rice and gravy was kinda bland
3rd the cabbage was I guess over seasoned
4th the Mac and cheese was good
