“Last night for the first time in my adult life, I sat alone at the restaurant bar at The Bistro. It was cold, wet and rainy outside and I almost stayed home. I ordered Brussels sprouts for dinner and unsweetened tea. I shopped online while I listened to the amazing artist singing live music. From Stapleton to Prince. He even threw in a little Justin Beiber Christmas music. After the show the singer sat with his mama and had dinner. Those last 45 minutes of the night are so precious to me. I am so glad I did not stay home. Thank you to Katie at The Bistro in Irmo. She was a lovely hostess! Thanks to Trey Duncan Sings for a wonderful show and the time I got to spend with him after. “Lizard's Thicket in Irmo was the best!! All others in Columbia SC are gross! I was disappointed in them and vowed to never eat there again, I am glad I decided to try one more time.. definitely NOT disappointed 9/19/25

Tonight we had the shishito peppers, Chinese pork belly, snapper and the braised lamb pappardelle followed by the olive oil cake with sweet cream eggplant ice cream. We both agreed it was one of our top meals over the past several years at Terra and cannot wait until our next date! Quality, consistency and service are always top notch, and the one time we tried another restaurant for our date night we totally regretted it and went right back to Terra for our next meetup. “Upon arrival hostess said we would have a 25 minute wait. To our surprise, we were seated in 10 minutes.
Menu full variety of brunch and lunch items. Portions large and very much fitting to the price of each product on the menu. Leftovers were taken home!

We did not feel pushed to finish and leave.

“Food was exceptionally good. My husband and I enjoyed our wine and the meal. Our server was very gracious and attentive. Our problem came when the bill arrived and a 18% gratuity was automatically charged. We pay tips in cash to our servers so they get them right away instead of being held for a week or two as so many places do. I requested to speak with MOD but she never came. We waited 15 minutes and upon leaving saw her out back smoking. Customers always came first for every restaurant, bar or business I worked for and with the quality of service the owner set up, that was what I expected. Very disappointing experience. BTW we tip 25-30% normally not 18, so don't put it on a check for 2 people. We had hoped to get the message to the owner for his consideration in this matter. Hopefully he reads reviews and this changes or my husband won't return.“

“I eat their weekly. Grew up eating Lizards Thicket. Started out at the one that used to be by the airport. I’ve eaten at all of them. They are all good. Love the breakfast. Love the specials. We weren't aware that they closed at 9pm until after we were leaving. Most of our party arrived at 8:15pm but we had some stragglers that arrived at 8:40pm. The entire staff was soooooooo incredible and accommodating, everyone helping each other get drinks, refills, bread and food out soooooooo quickly. Not one time did we ever feel "rushed" or "hovered" over to "hurry up." Instead they just let us enjoy our dining experience! The food was fantastic, even at the end of the shift, it was still all so fresh and delicious! I think we wrapped up our bills at 9:30pm. We all thanked the servers and all the management staff for allowing us to stay and enjoy our meal and we humbly apologized to them honestly not knowing the time they closed. The manager reassured us it was no problem at all and asked us if we enjoyed everything, food, service and all. We enthusiastically replied YES! I just wanted to specifically shout out to the store and staff how wonderful our dining experience was. “Chef Tom catered a Christmas dinner for our boat club this past weekend. A lot of great menu choices. I went with the bourbon marinated steak tips, twice baked potatoes & the grilled veggies. Many compliments on the potatoes, the tenderness of the meat & the taste & display of the vegetables. Drop off went smoothly. Jen was very helpful in setting up the dishes & answering all my questions. Would highly recommend!!“

“Excellent service and the food was very good. Seeing that it was our first time they gave us free beignets(sooo goood)! My wife and I went for brunch and I had Mardi Gras omelette with the city grits. The omelette had crawfish shrimp and andouille sausage in it with a sort of salsa type dressing on it. I’m pretty sure this is my new favorite food! My wife had pancakes with bacon and eggs and she said it was good. The only complaint I have was the coffee. I like my coffee strong and I like it hot this could have been a little stronger definitely could have been hotter. Will I go back, The answer is yes but it will not be a regular, we are on a fixed income and it was a little pricey for breakfast but for special days this is a keeper.“

Stopped by Colombo’s on a quiet Sunday evening, and it hit the spot. Tamara at the bar was fantastic—friendly, attentive, and full of great suggestions. I went with the crab dip and wings, and both were packed with flavor. My drink was perfectly mixed, and the atmosphere was laid-back but classy. It wasn’t crowded, just peaceful and inviting. The kind of place where you can unwind, eat good, and feel taken care of. I’ll absolutely be back.“

“We've been celebrating our first 2003 meeting at Outback for the last few years. Since Lexington just recently opened, no more Harbison. As usual, we snagged 2 bar seats. Drink orders were taken and promptly delivered. After a couple of drinks, we ordered food. My wife got her usual Alice Springs Chicken. I switched from my usual steak to the Ribeye. I'll probably stick with the Victoria Filet or Outbreak Prime Rib from now on. The Ribeye was perfectly cooked but ultra fatty and way over-seasoned. You could go across the street to Food Lion and find a better quality Ribeye. Definitely not worth the $28 cost. The Chicken was spot on. Cold, fresh Foster's. Overall good bar service but the 2 servers could be more attentive on drink refills. My beer glass sat empty for close to 10 minutes and no one asked. Little things like that mean a lot to the customer as well as size of the final restaurant tab. Overall good first visit.

It's been about 6 weeks since our initial visit. We celebrated my wife's birthday at the bar. She had a Koala Punch. The drink service has improved. Still a very friendly staff. The currently offered 3 Cheers Meals are an outstanding value. For $23, I had the 8oz. Sirloin with baked potato, salad, and the Chocolate Thunder for desert. Believe me, it's worth the $3 upcharge over the included cheesecake...Chocolate Heaven.

10/25 update...we celebrated our 20th anniversary of our engagement. I had⁹ a large Flo's Filet medium rare with baked potato and broccoli. Perfectly cooked. My wife had the $14.99 Grilled Chicken meal with Caesar salad, broccoli, and Raspberry Cheesecake. Awesome service at the bar, as always.“

We had the fried mushrooms for an appetizer and I had the pimento cheeseburger and he had the bacon double cheeseburger and seasoned fries. The food was amazing and delicious. The Collard greens were very good after adding salt and pepper sauce (vinegar), Cabbage also. There was no seasoning (salt/pepper) in the food.
