“My husband and I ate at Higher Ground for the first time Monday. We had the fried mushrooms for an appetizer and I had the pimento cheeseburger and he had the bacon double cheeseburger and seasoned fries. The food was amazing and delicious. The waitress was attentive had a sweet personality and gave great suggestions on what to order. It was a very cool temperature inside to eat on a hot day! I highly reccomend this place! “First time visitor. It's a small, quaint spot for breakfast/brunch. There were a bunch of college students ahead of me ordering and the spicy bacon, egg & cheese biscuit seemed to be the most popular order so I decided to try it along with a side of the hashbrown Casserole and a coffee The portion size is ample, for sure. However, after the first bite of the biscuit, I couldn't eat anymore. The ghost pepper cheese ( which I didn't know) that they use was too hot for my taste. But if you like hot and spicy then this may be more to your liking. The biscuit was too thick for the rest of the ingredients, in my opinion. But the egg and bacon were good. The hashbrown casserole was well seasoned and tasty and the coffee was good as well. The service was top notch, the ladies working were very friendly and accommodating. The dining area and tables were clean. I would definitely go back and try some of the other goodies, such as the fried green tomatoes and pimento cheese, as well as one of the specialty coffees.“

“I’ve been here on several occasions with friends and family and it’s among my top places to eat. It looks like they’ve redesigned since my last visit and it looks great. In particular, I want to thank the staff for their efforts hosting our office Christmas party. Our original location shut down due to water damage a few weeks before our event but the restaurant was able to accommodate our 30 person party, including many little ones, with no issues at all. They even provided us with a beautiful private space allowing us more freedom to move and interact with each other. Excellent work from booking to execution. A big thanks to our main server who put up with us too! Consider Old Mill for your off campus office gathering or other event!

Vegetarian options: The menu had a few options for vegetarians including salads and spinach dip for an appetizer.

Parking: Limited parking in the front with dozens of other spaces in the back.“

Service was friendly and the atmosphere was enjoyable and relaxed. We had 3 kids with us and they were very happy with their food. We all left full and satisfied. “My first time back in quite a few years. Greeted immediately when I walked in. Since I haven't been here in a while, I was trying to figure out what I wanted to get and Zhane, working at the register, told me about a few different items and seemed genuinely interested. I ended up with the Jalapeño Pepper Jack Double Combo and chili cheese fries. When I went to pick up food from the window the gentleman back there asked me if I wanted onions and I'm glad I did. As I was eating Zhane checked if everything was okay and when I was done he swung back by and grabbed my trash. Everything was absolutely amazing, the people extremely friendly, and the meal ended up being way cheaper and I thought it would be.

Definitely going to make my next trip here sooner!“
