“We recently visited Charleston and forgot to make dinner reservations, that’s when we happed on to The Royal Tern. Despite no reservations, they gladly seated us at a great table. The food was exquisite, everything from the Raw Bar, the fried shrimp, to the halibut. The halibut was prepared perfectly and was so unique; the ingredients worked together in delicious synergy. My cocktail was on-point, too. As a home cook, being able to watch the chefs prepare the meals was fascinating. Mad respect for their craft. Met one of the owners as he was making his rounds in the dining room, and he was a lovely person. He even printed a map w/shortcuts for us since traffic is so bad in the Charleston area. Highly recommend, will definitely be back next time we’re in town.“

The food is consistently phenomenal, the atmosphere is cozy and inviting, and the love they show to our children (and everyone else’s) is something you just don’t find everywhere. Their dinner club nights are a highlight for us—perfect for a spontaneous date night with an amazing menu and vibe. “The little hiding piece of perfection was awesome! Food, we had banners and corned beef, was delicious. Bartender was constantly making sure we were good. Servers was friendly and helpful.
Other than the perfect lighting, great selection and staff my only thought was some Irish music would have set a better tone.
Side note : save a little room for a small frozen yogurt next door. They staff was great too and their yogurt delicious!

“Woody’s has a typical beach bar vibe. The inside is small and rustic, and they have a large outdoor deck with picnic table seating. We were told to seat ourselves and we ultimately chose to sit outside. We were greeted quickly and gave our order - a couple of beers, a salad and large cheese pizza. The salad was adequate, some romaine, croutons and a packet of Ken’s Caesar dressing. The pizza is a thin NY style, greasy (in a good way lol), foldable piece of pie. Exactly what we were looking for! The porch was great for people watching and the pizza was delicious! Would definitely recommend.“

“We stopped in since we drove past so many times before. Wow it was just wow it as just wonderful! The key lime pie was home made and melted in your mouth. The shrimp and grits were buttery and creamy and the seasoning was delicious. My visit was fantastic and I will come again to try the crabcakes next“

“I have been meaning to write a review for this place, we had such a great time there on Sunday, May 4th. Kiet and Claudia were very friendly and helpful. Kiet took us in the back and showed us around. We chatted about spirits and tinctures and everything else for quite some time, he was very knowledgeable! Please visit this spot if you want to learn more about and enjoy the craft. We loved it here!! (Bonus pts for a fun cocktail menu)“

“Best place for local sea food (shrimp locally sourced). Was here 3 days, ate seafood out 5 times. This was the only place we visited that served local shrimp (not from India or other “Asia” countries. Food, atmosphere, and service was the best.“

“We had Preston as our server. Although my kids have had sushi before, it was their first time at a sushi restaurant. He handled it wonderfully & we ate every bite! Highly recommend 😄“
