“My son came home from deployment and I just wanted to take him out to have a nice dinner before he left which was the following day. So I took him to this restaurant and everyone treated us so very very nice. I highly recommend this restaurant the ambience is also very nice, however the waiter the maître d’ the manager waitresses, they all made the experience for me and my son amazing. I cannot wait to come back and just relax and enjoy the jazz music that was playing.“

The oysters were delicious and appropriately sized for the price. The house margaritas and old fashion were good for the modest price. Bar scene is a vibe. Would return. Thank you“

“We were visiting Charleston over the 4th of July. We wanted to take blue crab home, but we needed it steamed. They weren’t steaming on the 4th, but they went out of their way to accommodate us and steam our 3 dozen mixed. My thanks to the staff, they ran a tight ship, and it shows. I had to wait, but I didn’t mind. We feasted on crab because of them working with us. You guys are the best and we will see you once we move for good!!!!“

“This is our second time eating at this place and it hits every single time! It is now a go to destination whenever we visit the beach, the gumbo is killer and their seafood boils are incredible. So much flavor and just the right amount of spice! The wonderful lady who makes the food even made my little girl her own personal bowl of gumbo with no spice and she ate every bite! The staff is friendly and the food is worth the price which I think is very reasonable!! Will be back time and time again!“

“We met Adam the owner who came to hurricane hit Little Switzerland NC right after the storm subsided. He and his team brought massive amounts of supplies from BBQ grills and charcoal to baby needs, water, generators and even went so far on a return trip to bring a portable smoker and cooked an entire meal for our village. We decided after a month of volunteering to celebrate my wifes birthday here in lovely Charleston and of course a meal at the Codfathers restaraunt. The atmosphere is very English Pub style with a great selection of beers/ wine, friendly staff and large tasty portions at a great price. If you love fish and chips this is a must go !!

“I was so excited to find this place in Summerville. I live an hour and a half away where there are no decent restaurants. So when we came down Charleston way we stopped in at this restaurant. The fish is to die for! We also bought the beef pies and sausage rolls and took them home to eat today. It is authentic British food and because I was raised with this type of food I was thrilled to find someone who knew how to cook it as well as my parents did. We will definitely be coming back!“

“Authentic Mexican food!! ?? First time checking this place out and the food reminded me back when I was in Mexico!! 100/10 recommend! The waitress and staff are so friendly!! “I went in on a Thursday evening when they do karaoke. The place was packed I didn’t order food however the people I was with ordered oysters that was sent back for being cold and chicken. I had one drink and didn’t feel like waiting on anything else but my song so I could sing and leave. The ladies restroom was clean but it needed tissue to be stocked.“

“Ordered 2 dozen garlic crabs to share with family for my brother’s birthday to kick off labor day weekend and they were sooo good! The owner was so responsive on the phone and had the crabs ready and waiting at the designated time. I love that you pick these crabs up hot as opposed to some garlic crabs which are cooked earlier and eaten cold. The garlic butter soaked in everywhere and also had a nice kick to it. I’m telling all my friends and we will be ordering again soon!“

“The service and food were excellent today. Oscars rarely disappoints. My only issue is the surcharge for using a credit card. Now the menu prices were all high as most so I have to ask how cheesy for Oscars to embarrass this establishment by noting this increase on my receipt. Guys this is a premium dining establishment. Pinching more $ I think should we embarrassing to proprietor. Stop this! If you don't have your menu costed correctly that's your problem to figure out.“

“Middleton Place restaurant is lovely. Experience the historical restaurant in the daytime as night time it is pretty darn dark. Long driveway, go in the direction of the small sign that says restaurant and it is the building that is not clearly marked restaurant except for on the front of the building. The atmosphere is beautiful inside. We felt like we walked right into 1717. Food was delicious, service was top notch, and the restaurant was clean.“

“We went to eat around 2:30 and had the place to ourselves. The service was great. The food was pretty good but my 12 year old didn’t like her fries. She said they were under seasoned. There were tvs but they weren’t too loud and we could talk as a family. I would recommend this restaurant.“

Being from BR, we are excited to have this place. We already love both Nigel's locations. This was what I've been waiting for. He put his spin on NO favorites. The Signature Oysters were amazing! Boudin balls and crab dip were full of flavor. My husband loved the fried pork chops. Offer rice and gravy or mashed potatoes and gravy, please. The gumbo was flavorful and packed with chicken, shrimp, sausage, and crawfish- needed a little more liquid. Fried okra was fresh!
Get the Banana Bread Pudding! I don't even like bread pudding but this was out of this world! That caramel sauce was bomb! The beignets were delicious. Not authentic per se but fabulous all the same.
Nigel is a genius. I want that blackened catfish or shrimp ravioli next time.
Please add Crystal's or Louisiana hot sauce and some Tony's on the table. Even some sport peppers, if you want the trifecta of tabletop seasonings.“

“I ended up at this lil quiet place by chance. After receiving poor service at Marvin's my family and I drove 8 miles down the road (on top of driving to Charleston) just for some FRESH seafood??. Food was ready upon arrival, and though NOT on their menu, this restaurant was the FIRST to accept the challenge to make Rosa Parks pancakes in honor of her birthday February 4th. “They have pretty good margaritas. It's hard to mess them up, and fortunately its never happened here. Most of the food is pretty decent, but I'm not a fan of their taco salad. It is very very basic and very little seasoning. Customer service is amazing. I don't think any of my times there I have had a bad experience. They have a cute little outside patio area you can eat at, and in the evening its quite pretty. This is Good place for families, a friends get together point, and even your first date.

Dietary restrictions: I have a very bad tomato allergy, and as long as they know, they will guide you to the right food choices. If you put in an order with your allergy in it, they do come back and let you know you can't have that, and here are other options. I have never had to use my epipen after eating here and I'm highly allergic to tomatoes.“
