“Started going here quite a bit whenever I’m in town for business. Great place to catch the games & mingle w/ friendly people. Large beer selection, smoked old-fashioned’s, great menu & consistent food, attentive service, & Ari is the best bartender in all of Sioux City!”
“The food here is absolutely delicious. They have a lot of variety - from truffle fries to queso to Mac and cheese, flatbreads. Everything was delicious. Cocktails were also delicious.”
“Tires of fast food? Dakota Perk is amazing. The soup and salad bar is great. The staff are super friendly. Prices are better than fast food. It doesn't take a long time to get sandwiches either. It has been a while since I have had their coffee drinks. I am sure they are just as good or even better than the "S" coffee places. They also have a convenient drive thu also.Parking: Parking is shared with other businesses.”
“What is a Charlie Boy you ask? Well, let’s get that out of the way. If you don’t care about this, or a little history, just skip to the next paragraph. Depending on what part of the country you are from, it will be one of numerous names which are basically all the same thing. A Tavern, a Loose Meat, or a Made-Rite. It’s basically cooked and seasoned burger in a bun, with your choice of ketchup, mustard, pickles, cheese, etc. the secret is in how the meat is cooked down. Is it a Sloppy Joe? No… those have tomato sauce/paste, and the others won’t. Fun fact, the Tavern sandwich, was first created as a “steamed hamburger” in 1920 by Carroll Dietz of Missoula Montana, and then in 1934 imitated by Abraham Kaled at the “Ye Olde Tavern” in Sioux City Iowa, which used to sit at 14th & Jackson. Anyhow, there’s a variety of ways it can be called or recognized. So as described above, it’s ground beef seasoned to taste good, and then placed on a bun. I’ve found typical toppings to be ketchup, mustard, pickles and onion, however, some places, like here at Miles Inn with their Charlie Boy, offer a slice of cheese as well. To me, I absolutely love cheese, but I could take it or leave it on this sandwich, as it can kind of drown the flavor of the meat as well in my opinion. Otherwise, I don’t want to sound critical, but I don’t see much that makes this sandwich here stand out much against the many other good ones I’ve tried. It’s good, don’t get me wrong, but this place is known, even nationally to have one of the best. Eh… it’s good, but I just don’t see it making that high of a list.Service was good., staff was friendly. Atmosphere, not our kinda of crowd. We were out for an evening cruise on the bike and stopped when it was later out, so more of the louder drinking crowd was there. Not really our thing when we’re going out to eat a meal. Other than that, it was pretty decent over all.We personally won’t be in a big hurry to get back, because there are so many places we’d rather eat, but it would certainly be worth a try again sometime.”
“They aren't kidding when they say the BLT has a 1/2 lb of bacon on it. Mac and Cheese was excellent too, though I'm not sure I would call it Mac and cheese. It's penne pasta and the sauce was almost Alfredo like. But it was still delicious.”
“The owner is very nice and helpful. The drinks are amazing and good sugar free low calorie. Each drink I've gotten so far were good .Will definitely be back and letting friends know to try it out .:)”
“Very friendly staff. Had chicken salad on baguettes and a little side salad with chicken and a vinaigrette dressing. With slices of cucumber. The meal was very tasty. Neat little place. Not a big place, but the music was great and had a nice vibe to it.”
“The BEST! Everything is homemade. The decor is so cute and homey. There are tables on both the east and west side of the building and lots of seating outside when weather permits. They are open year round for breakfast and lunch and into the evening in the summer.Everything (except the hot dogs :-)) is homemade and served fresh and hot! I love the Italian beef sandwiches and bread pudding, but everything is delicious. The portions are huge and the prices so reasonable. You can't ask for a more personable staff. They are just wonderful!”
“Fantastic comfort food!We ordered the dinner for two, which included Chicken Tikka Masala and Lamb Curry, appetizer sampler, naan, 2 hot teas and 2 deserts. Both dishes were rich in flavor, well seasoned - delicious! The appetizer sampler was also good. One of the deserts was Gajar ka Halwa - was too sweet to my taste, but it was also good. A lot of food, and not expensive at all. The Dinner for two is the great way to try so many things at once! The service was quick and friendly. The food came out fast. The whole experience was great! Good to have Tikka in walking distance from our place.”
“Was our first time here. My nephew recommended to go there for lunch. So we took a group of 7. Absolutely loved the food and the service was awesome. This is going to be our go to spot.”
“This place has such friendly patrons and staff! It was my mother's birthday who has not been here for YEARS, since it was called the sugar bowl. We had the best time ever. Such a fun little place.”
“Lea is always so helpful and very knowledgeable! She carries plenty of supplies on-hand, I've always been able to get what I need from her. If I have any brewing/ winemaking needs this is the first place I go.”
“Extremely friendly staff. They'll help you order if you're unsure. Definitely "social anxiety" friendly when it comes to staff. The food looks phenomenal and the coffee is amazing. The drink "funky squirrel" Is pretty fckn awesome!! They also have very clean restrooms and the atmosphere is awesome to sit down and just exist before stepping back out into the world.”
“Cool local bar! Wonderful divey feel. Love the atmosphere and the decoration! Fantastic selection of beer on tap, prices are not expensive. Quick and friendly service. We ordered a pizza and wings - food came out fast. Both were good. Reuben Pizza sounds intriguing, the reason to come back and try it out. See you soon!!”
“Great Somali food . Good customer service if you want some Goat meat, Fish, the serving is more than enough and They also gave us a place to pray, if you are in South Sioux City, NE it must place to visit.”
“The waiter was "Johnnie-on-the-spot". We waited on nothing. 3 of us had the 3 meat combo. The rib tips were tough compared to the other meats we had, but not too tough to complain about. The corn bread was almost the best we have ever had. They have bread pudding. I try bread pudding every time I see it on the menu. To compare it to my own. I have to admit that this is the first time I have ever had bread pudding that comes close to mine. It is better than some of my attempts but not all.If you are ever in Sioux City Iowa, I highly recommend you pay them a visit.”
“Found this by accident. My mom & I stopped to try the quiche. We have had tried different places. This by far our favorite. We will be coming back. Yummy!!!”
“Prepare to spend more than an hour here. Food takes a lot of time because Lori is in charge of everything. We love this place. This place is an old school classic diner that is stuck in the past, and that is a great great thing.”
“The best place in town! Cold beer, good people, fun events like darts, washers, trivia, karaoke... If you catch Jesse or Tommy down here you'll be delighted by card tricks. Owners and staff are nice and will go above and beyond for their family; the customers.”
“Delicious coffee drinks and baked goods, Hardline offers a comfortable space with wonderful service. Coffee is roasted on-site, and all syrups are homemade. Vegan and gluten-free options grace their menu.”
“Very nice little place. Thought at first it would be bowling alley food since it's attached to a bowling alley. Not at all, nice little restaurant, very friendly staff, was pretty busy but got our food fast. Have lots of selections on the menu. Great food.”
“Amazing little place. We went in for the Sunday Bloody Mary bar and it did not disappoint. The bartender, Dan, really solidified the experience for us! He made the Bloody Mary's for us, cooked fresh sandwiches and quesadillas, and made me a special lemonade with fresh blueberries. The ambiance was casual and friendly!”
“Was my first time in the bar. It feels bigger inside than what the outside lets on. The owner was behind the bar and she was very nice. We got our drinks in a timely manner. The bar was clean, and most importantly the atmosphere was friendly. I will definitely be back to Prince's!”
“I haven't had Sneaky's Chicken for almost 40 years as we have lived all over - but I am back in town & a cousin brought Sneaky's to a family gathering . Absolutely the same quality, recipe & overall nostalgic vibe . Thank you for still holding up this awesome tradition .”
“Recently found this hidden gem driving up old hwy 75.Service was immaculate.Food was greatLove the atmosphere. Our only issue was ventilation is bad….You will smell of the kitchen upon entry.Just a minor issue. It is now our favorite spot when visiting the area.”
“The coffee is the best in town, the food options are delicious. I love shopping for gifts here. The atmosphere is so comfortable and I enjoy the extra activities they host like book group, mixology nights, etc.”
“Overall good food, atmosphere and service. We have eaten here, several times and will continue to do so. Most experiences are lunch. Update for 2022 and new location.Nice new location, food is still great, homemade chips, salsa is great. Still recommend!! No bad experiences in 2023; ate there probably 12-15 times.”
“Nice little bar with a great atmosphere and drinks. Love the little popcorn machine too! Close to Hard Rock Casino so a perfect place to stop on the way to or from the casino.”
