“The food was wonderful and there were so many options! Buffett is currently closed due to pandemic but they have a very large menu of options - Indian to Central Asian with some Nepalese specialties - as well as mixed platters to make it possible to try a variety of things. The menu descriptions are fairly detailed and the spiciness level is a question asked for most items mild, medium, spicy). prices run from 8-12 for appetizers and 12-20 for meals and mixed platters which seems quite reasonable for the serving size and skill in preparation. It would be a wonderful place for families, romantic dinners out, or a good place to meet an old friend and talk over 2 or 3 courses. Inside was very comfortable, good spacing and light, not too loud, with many beautiful decorations and carved accents. The owners and staff were wonderful - friendly, accurate, quick to help and quite fast food preparation. I would absolutely come back!“

“Great spot for casual food and drinks in downtown Rapid City. Huge list of local and craft beers on draft, even a seasonal N/A kombucha on draft. Lots of great N/A beer options in a can/bottle as well. Decent selection of wine as well.

We had flat bread pizzas and they were great. One of these would certainly feed two people. We each got our own and had leftovers for lunch the next day!

“This place is the best!!! The food is incredible, everything was fresh and yummy and so satisfying. The best part was the staff. I was treated so well here. I had forgot what it was like to go out to eat and be treated like a guest. There was a sign on the door saying they were shortstaffed and to be patient. I was ready to wait but I was helped in a timely manner, my food came out in a reasonable time and it was fresh and I left feeling like this is a one of the best restaurant experiences I’ve had it since 2019! What an amazing local restaurant with great food, great service, awesome staff and I highly recommend a visit. You won’t be disappointed!!!“

“Service was great from the hostess to servers. The two others with me had steaks, good flavor but prefer a thicker cut instead of thin cut that looks bigger. Had the salmon and it was very good. One had the brussel sprouts that had maybe 3 slices and the rest was burnt, loose leaves. Manager blamed it on the supplier, if that is the issue then remove it from menu, there were at least two other items not available.“

And add to that how commited they are to local and sustainable ingredients. Got my business forever!“

“Would absolutely recommend Shipwrecks Bar & Grill! They have their own separate gluten free fryer. My 2 year old son with Celiac and other allergies was able to have walleye fingers with French fries and loved them! They even made it into a kids meal for him! The head chef was very knowledgeable about celiac and willing to talk with us! Wonderful experience all around!“

Legit hand breaded chicken fried steak and real mashed potatoes were perfectly prepared. No prebreaded steak or boxed mix used in our meal. Complimentary bread before the meal from their in house bakery was tender and tasty as was their coconut cream pie with authentic flaky, home style crust with fresh whipped cream topping and rich filling. Given the circumstances, I believe he did an excellent job. It was why I left a more than generous tip. It was well deserved and something I don't really do very often. But he did a great job. “We brought our whole Boxing team from Nebraska to eat here on Saturday night and the staff from the cook to our server was TOP NOTCH! The cook even made a special bowl with all of his favorite sauces for one of our fighters. Our server engaged with us and made sure we had what we needed at all times! “Perkins resembles a food experience that is no longer as in fashion as it once was. Similar to Denny's and Shoney's the decor, cleaning and layout of the restaurant leaves a lot to be desired. The carpet was so filthy our shoes were sticking to it. Normally, I wouldn't have eaten here but we were tired after a long day on the road, and it was attached to our hotel. Our waitress was fantastic! She was attentive and so fun to talk to despite being busy. The food choices were basic but surprisingly well cooked and delicious. And I have to say, quite clean. It wasn't greasy or disgusting. The manager was kind and professional while very outgoing despite long hours. It surprises me to say; I would consider eating here again. WOW!“
