“I really enjoyed the food and the atmosphere at this place. It helps that we had the best server ever. If you go, ask Jenna (I think that was our server, that was the name on the receipt) to make you her amazing mocktail, I think it had blended fruit puree, but it was phenomenal. Otherwise, the birria tacos are fantastic, worth the $5 for the extra taco. The side salad goes really well with the tacos, especially with the Asian dressing. They also have a punch card for their lunch menu, so i recommend checking that out. Really a cool place with a great vibe and some amazing food. I got the smoked mesquite old fashioned which was also terrific.“

Literally no change at all, which is great for severance. Still great beer, great service, great atmosphere. Have never came to Severance and regretted it.

The only update I have from prior 2025 review is Severance has a partnership with The Lodge at Jacobson Plaza by the splash pad / ice rink. You order, Jacobson delivers. See the bartender for details

2025 update:
Took the kids to the brand new playground and splash pad across the street. The entire time I looked longingly across the street at Severance, craving a cool beer in some shade.

Luckily, Severance opened at noon. The same great service and selection I've come to expect over the years. Today's selection I especially enjoyed the Taco Stand Hand Stand, a delicious lighter beer with just the right amount of lime.

My wife and kids came over after they were done so it's awesome Severance is kids friendly. I even think I saw a dog inside.

For food they got Sunny's pizza, which is my favorite thin crust in town. If that's not for you you can bring in food from local businesses, like we came over with two bags of food from down the block.

All the crew I've had here have been great, today Jessi took great care of us

Severance is a near weekly staple for us it's that good.

“Love the falafel, naughty fries and there’s always a unique new sandwich on the menu. Never leave disappointed!“

“The best place to play pinball and nostalgic arcade games. I love that we can have a couple drinks(they have a beer license and I believe they have some THC drinks too) and have a blast. It's the perfect spot to go for a half hour before other downtown activities or a couple hours of fun and games“

“We were only there to pick up carry out, but I was so impressed. Such a calm, welcoming atmosphere, super friendly staff and everything we ordered was absolutely incredible. We had quite a large order right around dinner service time and our food was fresh and hot. Would definitely recommend!“

“We stopped for the first time at Monk's Ale House 8/4 and if we were in Sioux Falls longer we would have gone back again. The service was excellent (can't remember his name...Kros Strain shirt that day) but he was so helpful. Knew a lot about the beer on tap and made great recommendations. We didn't eat so I can't review the food. From the looks of the inside it would be a fun place to be on a busy weekend. Lots of room and so many neat wall signs. Next time in Sioux Falls we'll likely stop here first!“
