Somehow, we find ourselves forgetting what we thought about Severance Brewing until the next time we walk in. That's crazy to me because it's definitely my top pick for the Sioux Falls stops.

There is plenty of natural light. The music is good. The ambiance clean & fresh without feeling sterile/ generic or uninviting. The staff know their products & the selections are solid.

The cheeky brew based on the 1 star review shows the playful side, despite the pettiness. Perhaps, that's the key to seeing Severance into my memory. Of course, we purchased cooler beers this time... soon to be couch beers or camping beers.“

I had the dirty chai latte and the apple pie waffle with fruit and my sister mentioned it was my birthday and we were brought out a complementary (warm) strawberry pastry, which was absolutely delicious!! I was there with a friend for lunch and I had the Beef Philly which was delicious. Wait staff was attentive, but we waited well over 30 minutes for our food to be delivered (1 pm on a Thursday). We were told they were still hiring kitchen staff.“

And the door out to their patio seating area opens directly outside so any time people went out that way, the cold air blew across the room. On a normal night, I suspect this would be a rare occurrence, but the night we were there happened to be the night of the winter normal for the local schools so there were a number of high school couples that were running out to get photos in the fresh snow in their formal outfits“
