“Covert always has phenomenal beer on tap and friendly staff every time I stop in. They are a “must visit” any time I pass through Sioux Falls and I always take a couple of 4-packs to go for family and friends back home who wish they could have it in person. Love this place!“

Been several times. Always great service, taps constantly rotate.

Venue constantly doing events from painting mini figures to crib to music. I know friends that go often and if I lived closer I would come at least once a week.

Heard there's plans to make beer on site and excited for it.“

Literally no change at all, which is great for severance. Still great beer, great service, great atmosphere. Have never came to Severance and regretted it.

The only update I have from prior 2025 review is Severance has a partnership with The Lodge at Jacobson Plaza by the splash pad / ice rink. You order, Jacobson delivers. See the bartender for details

This update is solely because I got a request from Google to update my review.

2025 update:
Took the kids to the brand new playground and splash pad across the street. The entire time I looked longingly across the street at Severance, craving a cool beer in some shade.

Luckily, Severance opened at noon. The same great service and selection I've come to expect over the years. Today's selection I especially enjoyed the Taco Stand Hand Stand, a delicious lighter beer with just the right amount of lime.

My wife and kids came over after they were done so it's awesome Severance is kids friendly. I even think I saw a dog inside.

For food they got Sunny's pizza, which is my favorite thin crust in town. If that's not for you you can bring in food from local businesses, like we came over with two bags of food from down the block.

All the crew I've had here have been great, today Jessi took great care of us

Severance is a near weekly staple for us it's that good.

Excellent beer great service great location“

“As a mead brewery I looked forward to this stop on our journey thru Souix Falls and was validated by the quality of the product. I went for the berries and Cherry drafts.
Although it is not a brewery (off site production), the Big Lost has plenty of seating in this establishment. A food vender is also on site with some of the best fries and grilled options. I would return whenever in the area.“

“Tried the new menu from their new chef last night. Everything had so much flavor, fresh ingredients, cooked to perfection. This is not pub food, so much more special but still approachable. Walk in wearing your comfy clothes, choose a beer or wine, and enjoy the community feel right on Phillips Avenue. We’ll be back!!“

“We stopped for the first time at Monk's Ale House 8/4 and if we were in Sioux Falls longer we would have gone back again. The service was excellent (can't remember his name...Kros Strain shirt that day) but he was so helpful. Knew a lot about the beer on tap and made great recommendations. We didn't eat so I can't review the food. From the looks of the inside it would be a fun place to be on a busy weekend. Lots of room and so many neat wall signs. Next time in Sioux Falls we'll likely stop here first!“

“Super friendly easy backing super quick unloading
Easy to get to!!!! When you come in off the main road, there's a sign that says enter off national Avenue. It's very easy very simple. The people that couldn't find this place must not have common sense as a trucker.“
