“Stayed at a nearby hotel while visiting for work. I chose this Waffle House tonight and it was the nicest one I've ever been to. The two ladies working there made me feel welcomed, they took great care of me and the food was great. I'm going back again this week before I leave town this weekend. Great job Christina and I wish I knew the young ladies name who cooked my food. You two are so kind and friendly.“

“Isaiah 117 It all started with a T-shirt and a wooden box. Mike and I moved to Tennessee partially in 2020 and finished in 2021. Of course you have to check out the local diners for some good grub. One of the places we went to on occasion was Owen’s in Dandridge. I noticed that the waitresses were wearing a T-shirt that said something about the Isaiah house. I did not have a clue. Then I also noticed a white wooden box shaped like a house that was clearly for donations. I usually don’t put money into boxes without checking out what it was all about. After a few more visits to Owen’s, I googled the organization. Hmmm, I liked what I read. There was a link for an online book that I listened to via Spotify. It told the entire story of how Rhonda’s eyes were opened to seeing a need for foster children here in Tennessee. How her and her husband were on the path of becoming foster parents and how they noticed that sometimes children who are removed from their biological family without a plan for where they will go next. Sometimes the social worker would have them stay in the office, even overnight until a foster family could be found. This broke Rhonda’s heart. Isaiah 1:17 says we should defend the fatherless, Rhonda was convicted. Yes, why couldn’t there be a place kids could go that was overflowing with love during such a difficult time. Out of that conviction grew Isaiah 1 17 house. Beautiful White House’s with a red front door that welcomes children with open arms. They bathe, they clothe, they feed, they give a warm bed, they provide safety, warmth and lots of love. Children may stay up to 3 nights as the social worker figures out where this child or children will be placed. My love for this organization as just one person has spread. I first introduced it to my friend Martha, then to my P.E.O. Sisterhood and now to my church. My heart is full. One T-shirt and a wooden box has now influenced many people here in Knoxville, Tennessee. I like the Pecan Pancakes!“

“While dropping off our son at Carson-Newman, we stopped by Angelo’s at The Point—and wow, what a find! The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, and the service is top-notch. But let’s talk about the star of the show: the mushroom ravioli. Creamy, rich, and full of flavor—it’s the kind of dish that will have you coming back again and again. Pair it with a glass of wine, and you’ve got yourself the perfect evening. If you’re in the area, make sure to put Angelo’s on your must-visit list. You won’t regret it!“
