My husband and I were driving from Gatlinburg to Nashville to help our daughter move. I had heard about the cafe’ and always wanted to go. I would not go out of my way to go here. We drove over an hour to get here and when we showed up they were closed getting ready for a wedding event. That made me fairly frustrated, but I get some things come up, but it didn’t help that the person that informed us was rude about it and not didn’t offer any help or recommendations. Just the wait to get in was crazy only to have most of the menu sold out by lunch time? We were limited on our picks and what we ordered wasn't good. Food didn't taste fresh. Tasted like frozen food warmed up in a microwave. I also didn't appreciate seeing the waitress having our food piled on top of each other when bringing everything out. Went once and never again. Wasn't worth the wait, taste or money!

Cookie Jar Cafe is a fantastic spot where everything on the menu is great. The cupcakes are a highlight, and there is a petting zoo out back that adds charm for kids. Although there are some areas for improvement, such as addressing ant piles on the premises, the staff is awesome and provides excellent service. The servers are nice, courteous, and keep drinks full while engaging in pleasant conversation. The menu features delicious dishes like Sweet Tea Chicken, Catfish, chicken livers, and fried mushrooms, with huge portions that come out remarkably fast. The desserts, including Chocolate Cake, Carrot Cake, and strawberry cupcakes, are a must-try, and the cornbread and rolls are also favorites. Cookie Jar Cafe promises a great meal and a wonderful country atmosphere for families and friends, making it worth the drive.
