“Valleybrook Golf and Country Club: A Chattanooga Gem I recently had the pleasure of playing Valleybrook Golf and Country Club in Chattanooga, and I came away thoroughly impressed. From the moment I arrived, the experience was top-notch. The course itself was in fantastic condition. The fairways were well-maintained, and the greens were absolutely pristine – incredibly smooth and lightning fast. It definitely put my putting skills to the test! I was fortunate enough to play with some members who were kind enough to provide valuable insights and guidance throughout the round, which greatly enhanced my experience. Beyond the excellent course conditions, the staff truly made the day special. The golf shop staff was exceptionally friendly and welcoming, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. And after the round, the food was simply terrific. It was the perfect way to cap off a great day on the links. Overall, my experience at Valleybrook was outstanding. The combination of a beautifully maintained course, smooth and fast greens, friendly staff, delicious food, and the camaraderie of the members made for a truly memorable day. I left Valleybrook wishing I could become a member myself. It's a fantastic course with great people, and I highly recommend it to any golfer visiting the Chattanooga area“

“Lemon blueberry biscuits are top teir, but if that’s not your style. Don’t sleep on the tenderloin egg and cheese biscuit. If you sit on on top of your head your tongue would knock your brains out trying to get a taste! Highly recommend this place.“

“First time stopping in on my way to Chester Frost. My whole family loved their meals. The only thing that I didn't particularly love was the okra tasting like it has sugar in the breading. Don't get me wrong, it was still delicious, just wasn't expecting it and personally love it fried in a traditional batter. The girls up front at register were very polite and beamed with a positiveness about them that you don't find often. They had on Christian themed shirts and radiated something Christ-like in their presence. Nice to see young folks like that. Service went smoothly and quickly. Everyone ate everything off their plates. Even had to order coconut cake to go. Haven't found a coconut cake so similar to how my aunt always makes one and it was a nice treat. Will be back when I am in the area.“

“Incredible dinner last night at Wooden City, had a group of 7 and everything was perfect - food, service, drinks, atmosphere. It was slammed busy on a Saturday night but zero hiccups with food or service. Perfect location, can’t wait to go back.“

“Food and service were amazing, as always. We were shocked to have to now pay for parking!! A $300 dinner and we have to pay for parking! We were told by the staff they have to pay for parking as well! And don’t the owners also own the parking lot? Possibly this isn’t the best policy!“

“We visited the area for the first time since this gem opened. We had such an enjoyable experience and meal at the chef’s counter Friday night that we sat there again for Sunday brunch. “My son and daughter in law and I ate at Hello Monty last night. The atmosphere was very nice and the host was great. Our waitress was outstanding. She took care of us the whole time we were there. The food was excellent. We had fish, rip eye and salmon. The rib eye and mashed potatoes was excellent vi would highly recommend eating here“

We lucked up with no reservation and there was one table open in the bar/lounge area. Everything was incredible. VERY rarely am I impressed with a dinning experience in all ways.

“Had a fantastic meal and wonderful service. The only negative would be the hostess. Not the most attentive when we checked in and then she took us to our table. We were given option of a two seater right between the only two occupied tables in the dining room or a two seater against the wall near the restrooms. Given it was early I thought maybe the 4 seaters were all booked but at end of night they were still fairly empty when we left.“

“First time back to J Alexander's in a long time for no reason. A good experience with attentive service. The seared tuna was excellent and the prime rib was tasty. Meatball appetizer was ok, a bit $$ for what they are. I'm spoiled by my meatballs no restaurant can beat. All in all a good experience.“

“My family has been coming here for decades and I went to school and church with several Ankars at OLPH and NDHS. I went to the Brainerd location today (my favorite). Unfortunately today’s experience was not great (but there’s no way I’m giving an “I do not recommend”). We ordered 3 hoagies. The bread usually comes out warm and soft (and we usually buy a bag to take back to Oklahoma with us). Today’s bread was not warm, chewy, and a bit tough. The onion rings were cooked unevenly with one basket being very light in color and the other 2 being much darker. Idk how many Ankars work at this location, but I did not see anyone. I hope the legacy is not coming to a close. I still wanted to get a t-shirt before leaving. The girl at the counter was confused by my request and got someone else who had to get a 3rd person to locate the shirts. The size he brought out was M and I wanted L. Had to wait while he checked and there were no Ls. This took about 7 minutes from start to finish. No apologies or offers to order one. I’ll be back to Ankar’s next time I’m in town. Just not this location. I hope that things improve there. Ankar’s was a gem not too long ago and it would be a shame to lose this Chattanooga landmark.“

Their hot honey is the best condiment on the planet. Inject that into my newborn baby.
I would say that it's a little bit pricey, but if you're eating out for breakfast I don't know what else you should be expecting. Plus everything else is getting more expensive anyway, so it's not like this is much of an outlier.

To MGMT, please don't reply to this review. I I haven't looked into how much you do or don't reply to these things, but if that ever happens it's always super uncomfy. I don't know if that still happens anymore, but it has all of the suave and grace of asking if you would like to donate tell the children's hospital at the Panda Express checkout. Is an interaction that didn't need to happen and it makes everyone uncomfortable because it looks like I want kids to die now.

“Holy crap. We only came to Chattanooga for my daughter's graduation and stopped here for lunch because it was near the venue, but this place... BEST BURGERS I've ever eaten! The staff were all super friendly and they even made a delayed to-go order so I could take a fresh lunch back to my kiddo when she got out of her practice. The aesthetic of the place was wonderful and people from all walks of life gathered there as if they, too, knew about the magic in the food. 12/10 will absolutely come back on my next visit to Chattanooga.“

The hotel's management kindly provided accommodations to ensure my safety. When my car battery died on the last evening, the front desk staff, including Katie, were extremely helpful and notified Jordan, who assisted me in jump-starting my vehicle despite the freezing temperatures. I am deeply grateful for the exceptional customer service displayed by the staff, who truly embody the spirit of hospitality. Although my stay was brief and work-related, I was impressed by the hotel's amenities and my comfortable room. If I find myself in Chattanooga, TN, in the future, I would certainly choose to stay at this Marriott property again.
