“We were on a road trip back home to Michigan. This is the best breakfast I've had in many years! The country ham was awesome. The eggs, biscuits, gravies, fried chicken and coffee are fabulous. We will eat here every time we are passing through!“
“My grand mother worked here for 25 years. (They actually closed for her funeral.) I have enjoyed their food for a long time. I was concerned with Becky’s retirement, that whoever took it over might not keep the food the same but, it is still the “best burger in town!!!”Parking: Plenty of parking unless, there is an event going on. Obviously, kids are not allowed, however, they do have a drive through. I did not list the taco salad but, I have had that before, too, and it is GREAT!!! Also, I did not have the bacon double as that would end up being too much food but, the bacon cheeseburger is usually my go to meal, here.“

“Amazingly tasty. The Hungry Shack is a fantastic little joint I never knew existed. I frequent the Jackson area as I am Pro A/V installer and technician I happen to be in the area during lunch and was driving by when I saw the little shack. The building is a little older and could use some renovation, but that is exactly why they say do not judge a book by it's cover. As soon as I saw the menu I knew I was going to have a hard time picking something, because I wanted everything! I went with the Garlic Parmesean Chicken wings and drums with seasoned fries. Not only was the food amazing, but they were super nice, remembered my name, brought the food out to me. I can't wait until I find myself in the area again. Bring cash for the tip yall!“
“I had such a great experience at Slim Chickens! Cashier was very friendly and complimented my coat. The food runner had such a happy smile as he delivered my food! He asked if everything looked okay, then checked on me once more and asked if I had everything I needed. I enjoyed the happy jazz music. Dining room was busy, but service was great and grilled chicken salad was delicious. I’m always nervous to get grilled chicken, but it was cooked very well!Vegetarian options: Great salad even if you took the meat off.“
“Had a bad experience my first time there about 5 years ago. Haven't given them a second look until my daughter suggested it for her seventeenth birthday today. Sooo glad I did. Hands down night and day difference. Everything was excellent. This hands down is now my favorite restaurant. I had the blackened grouper with vegetables and risotto. Best dish I've ever had. My wife and daughters never seen each other savor our food so intensely. Five years ago I caught you guys on a bad day around lunch time and judged you harshly. My deepest apologies, you all are number one in Jackson in my book. I'll be coming back soon for the Chilean sea bass.“
“I love the wide open atmosphere. Good beer selection. The steak tacos are our favorite. Hot Pork Rinds and Buffalo dip are great. We usually sit at the bar so we get pretty good service. Not a big fan of the burger, but I'm rather picky that way.“

“Wife and I each ordered the prime rib, both cooked perfectly, mine extra rare, and delicious. My garlic mashed potato serving was huge and very good. The wife had a baked potato. House salad with house made bleu cheese dressing, wife's house made ranch, excellent. Hold the bacon and potato sticks on mine. And, Becca, our server was great! “One of if not the best burger you'll get in Jackson. A true hand patted burger cooked when you order it. They also have plate lunches that's like home cooking. It's a self serve restaurant with no table service which I actually prefer. Just place your order and pick it up when they call your number. My burger was done in about 5 mins so good for a quick bite.“
“The last time we ate here the food wasn't edible. Took 2 hours to get our food and we couldn't eat it. They took 20% off though. ? I was about to leave a $10 on the counter and leave since we couldn't find an employee but then our waitress came out as we were about out the door.“

After trying to call, we went by and ordered food in person--it was well worth it. Take a cocktail to go, pull up here, and soak up the atmosphere while waiting for your food. The food took a little while, but was piping hot and soooo fiiiiiire, even after a little drive to get back home to eat. ?Hole in the wall, friendly staff, great food. “Me and the Honda boyz went here for lunch and every part about it was tremendously awesome. The ladies behind the counter were very nice and attentive of their customers. The store had a plethora of different things that were available for purchase that you would not have found in a commercial grocery like walmart. They had candies that made me feel like a kid again when I ate them. Absolute 10/10 will eat here again with the Honda Boyz.“

“They were slammed but still managed to get to us within 15 minutes. Everyone was working hard and still smiling and friendly. The food was great and our waitress was really nice. My only problem with the place. They had something in the air like a cinnamon smell throughout the restaurant. It's was terrible. It seemed to be coming through the air system. Anyway, maybe a fresh, clean scent would have been best and not so strong. That was my only negative. I would go back again“
“Our go-to place for barbecue and fixings, vegetables, value, and service. Just a bit west of Jackson on Hwy. 70. Has daily specials and lots of food for the money. We especially like the pulled barbecue, cabbage, green beans, stir fried vegetables cooked in olive oil, cornbread, and pecan pie. We have not come close to eating everything that is available.“
