Gourmet and Company Reviews
We love eating here. The staff is friendly, the atmosphere is cozy, and the food is phenomenal. There is nothing I don’t like about Gourmet & Company. It is a must try.
Bar - bartender was awesome, made really good margaritas. The bar itself was in need of repair, the countertop was bent/slanted towards the customer, the front of the bar is damaged, metal panels falling off.
This place advertises “fine dining” I had higher expectations.
We had the steak bruschetta appetizer. Ordered it medium, but it was served rare. We liked it but for $21 it should be cooked to order.
For entrees we had the halibut and pan seared...read full review
We are currently on an anniversary trip to north East Tennessee. Went to dine around 2 pm. The parking is cramped with narrow straight in parking places. We have a double cab LWB full size truck. Gourmet and Company is a locally owned and operated dining gem in Johnson City, TN. The food is absolutely delicious, with flavors in every dish that are amazing. Menu highlights include flash fried okra shavings topping grilled salmon served with cheese grits, a trio of roasted red pepper coulis, and crisp green beans. The appetizer of fried green tomatoes complemented by homemade ricotta cheese and a bacon type mixture is very good, and the chocolate banana bread dessert is excellent. The atmosphere makes celebrations feel special, though the white tablecloths are gone. Some meals are too salty, and burgers should be avoided as they are dry and overcooked. The patio provides a pleasant, relaxing dining experience, though one odd couple exited through a locked gate. Service is prompt, professional, and courteous. Overall, this is an excellent choice for upscale dining in the Tri Cities, perfect for special occasions like anniversaries and weddings.
