Blues City Cafe Reviews
Definitely my favorite food on Beale Street. Probably gonna see the best bands on Beale also. Definitely not cookie cutter like some of the other live music venues. Best catfish and best ribs on Beale. Not to mention the tamales are pretty good. Oh, don’t forget to just say screw it and eat dessert. They are also! Bread pudding.
Apparently after a certain hour, no matter what you spent, you are forced back out into "gen pop" to pay a cover charge. We spent the roughly $200 tip and all at this bar. My fiancé even played on stage. Thank you to the band but wth? We tried to exit the side door where we saw others leave but were turned away from staff. We seriously do understand keeping out problems but this is a BIG turn off Memphis.
My wife and I spent two nights in Memphis recently. we ate at Blues City Cafe two nights in a row. The first night we had the BBQ ribs,
and they were the best I've ever had. The restaurant was so good we went back the second night and had the best ribeye steak I've ever had in my entire life. If you're in the Memphis area, make sure you go to Blues City Cafe. It is totally awesome.
