In Memphis and Nashville, we had the best ribs at Central BBQ. Wet or dry, you can’t go wrong! So delicious! Can’t wait to come back!
Amazing! Just passing through from Dallas to Ohio and had to stop by! First time and it was so good!
the food is good but very inconsistent when ordering to-go. when ordering large fries or onion rings sometimes the box will be full, but most of the time half full at best

Based on customer reviews, Central BBQ Poplar is a spot where the food can be hit or miss. The best pork barbecue in Memphis is found here, and the big sandwich is absolutely stuffed with barbecue, especially good with a slaw. Customers found the brisket extra tender and flavorful, and the smoked wings were top tier. However, other experiences were less positive. Some found the food very dry, including ribs and chicken, and sides were often described as mediocre or extremely bland, like the Mac and cheese and green beans. The fries were described as kinda boring. Service was noted as good, with one extremely pleasant young lady at the counter providing 10/10 customer service. While some would not go back, others would give it one more try. Overall, the restaurant is pretty decent but not a favorite for everyone.
