“This having been our first time eating here, we seriously underestimated the amount of food we were going to get. The menu had so many delicious sounding items that we ordered several dishes. The portion sizes are huge! The only thing not huge was the mini Vegi Eggrolls, because they are supposed to be tiny, adorable little snacks of fried goodness and they succeeded in that goal. That being said, it was still a good sized Appetizer portion. The Tofu on a Stick was unlike any other Tofu Appetizer we have ever had. It is Tofu wrapped in Noodles, fried, and served with a dipping sauce. So fancy, crunchy, and so delicious! The Vietnamese Pancake was HUGE, fluffy, and filled with delightful chunks of Tofu and Veggies. They bring you Lettuce, Mint, and Cilantro to wrap around the Eggrolls and Pancake, which really adds a lovely contrast of flavors, textures, and freshness. The Asparagus and Mushrooms were cooked perfectly and in a delicious sauce. The Vermicelli and Tofu had a Curry Sauce, Veggies, and Peanuts. It was also amazing. Every dish was perfectly cooked and the flavors beautifully balanced. The server was a bit off standish at first, but she warmed up as things went along. She gave us excellent recommendations and brought the food to us very quickly. It is a small place, so we were glad we went between busy hours, as we can see it filling up quickly. The entire back side of the menu is Vegetarian! It was so refreshing to have choices. We loved every single dish we got and look forward to trying everything on the Vegetarian menu in the future.Vegetarian options: The entire back of the menu is Vegetarian. It is filled with a lovely variety of dishes. They really know their food well and can answer questions without having to ask someone else or guess, which is a very rare find.Dietary restrictions: They know the ingredients in every dish and were able to answer questions easily to help me avoid my food allergies.“

“Loi and his family have been making great Vietnamese food here for years. They definitely make some of the best phở, bún riêu, bún bò Huế, bánh mì, bún thịt nướng, chả giò, gỏi cuốn, and cháo gà in Memphis among many other outstanding dishes. If you know you know, if you don't know you should find out. This place is all about great Vietnamese food. The beef pepper steak is really good, too, and I think they have some other Chinese options that are probably pretty good, too, but it's a Vietnamese place so you should really take advantage of their specialties. The restaurant itself is not fancy, but the food is extra fresh, especially since there is a market right next door. Some people may complain that it doesn't look super updated or that it's a little rough around the edges, but this is a family operation, they work hard for long hours. They don't have a lot of help, and they have very reasonable prices for the high quality of food and service. We absolutely love everything about Phó Só 8. Try the avocado bubble tea or a cafe sua da for dessert!Vegetarian options: If you want, they will substitute tofu for a lot of things. Just ask!Dietary restrictions: They are very accommodating with special requests including dietary restrictions.“

“Appreciate the great tasting consistency of this place and of course the friendly, welcoming employees. Memphis has many authentic food options. This is our favorite Pho place in Memphis, consistently good food and service. I do not say 'best' because if there is not a competition it simply is not so, taste is subjective. On Cleveland between Madison and Poplar. The place is clean, including rest rooms. Items on the tables need to be cleaned, wiped off a bit more. This visit there was a cigarette smoke smell that I could not tell if another guest or an employee or the vent system. It is not a normal issue, I let them know. Seemed to be a couple newer employees. Missed the sweet little older lady.We occasionally try other locations but end up back at this place. We ordered three dishes and ended up with two take-away containers as the portions are a good size. This will make a couple more meals of left-overs. Share a meal would have been a better choice and is our norm with the regular bowl of pho and fresh spring rolls as an appetizer. Please note that 'vegetarian' on the menu does not mean vegetarian, it means vegetables. Fish sauce or chicken broth may still be present so ask. Vegan and vegetarian options are available, and the terms are understood. The fortune cookies were no longer the same, instead of fortunes it is US sayings and also crumbly/sweet so we will skip them in the future. All other items still tasty and authentic compared to my visits to Vietnam, Vietnamese friends.Vegetarian options: 'Vegetarian' on the menu does not mean vegetarian but vegetables and no pieces of meat. It is easy to discuss this with the wait staff.Dietary restrictions: Vegan, vegetarian, Buddhist vegetarian available. If you are MSG sensitive inquire. They are open to such issues.Parking: Parking lot can be a bit messy and parking tight if the event space next door is open, otherwise fine. ADA spots.Kid-friendliness: They have a larger area so can sit away from others in a booth if needed. Check if they still have child highchair. Wall mounted changing station in the restroom.Wheelchair accessibility: There is ADA parking and a cement ramp to the entry, it looks a bit narrow. The front door can be opened wide if needed. Also easy to remove chairs for seating. Bathroom is also a good size. I have seen wheelchair customers dining in the restaurant. I included a photo to give others an idea on accessibility.“

“Getting over a cold while in my first trimester of a pregnancy, I haven’t been able to stomach anything. When I got the craving for pho I was nervous until I took a sip of that hot pho soup. This was the best bowl of pho I’ve ever had in Memphis. The soup’s flavor was amazing and the contents were delicious and perfect flavored. The guy at the counter doesn’t talk much, but made sure I had everything I needed before I could ask for it. I will definitely be back.Kid-friendliness: The restaurant is quiet as many people opt for takeout. The dining area is clean and the restaurant offers high chairs. I can’t imagine many of the meals being enjoyed by kids, but if your kids like the cuisine this is a good place.“
