“This is some of the best Mexican food I’ve ever had… and I lived in San Diego for years. Everything was made fresh. The guac and salsa alone are worth a trip. The corn tortillas were light and fluffy. The barbacoa was my favorite taco, but the al pastor and carnitas were both great as well. And the servers were welcoming and attentive. Everyone here clearly cares about the quality of the food served and the enjoyment of their guests. We can’t wait to go back!“

“My boyfriend and I were in Nashville for my 32nd birthday from Alabama. His family is from El Salvador so I figured we would stop by for a taste of home. The horchata and plantain appetizer were delicious, as were the pupusas…we had mixed, beans with cheese, and loroco. We liked it so much we would drive back just to eat there again!“

“I have been wanting to eat here for quite some time. The expectation for authentic South American food was pretty high because the pics of the menu showed Spanish and English descriptions of the food. When I arrived for lunch, I was told I could sit at any table. I heard a lot of Spanish spoken and there were plenty of Spanish influenced decorations around which upped the expectations. Service was really laid back. I ordered carne asada the first time I visited. It was cooked up in the kitchen that is visible to customers and brought to my table. I was not wild over the food. I thought the beef was somewhat tough and not that flavorful. I also felt that the macaroni salad was not cohesive with the rice, beans, and avocado slices. However, I did return a few weeks later to try a torta for the first time and it was outstanding. The bread was toasted to add some flavor. However the chicken was prepared, it was yellow, seared, and very tasty. Surprisingly, the refried beans melded well with the chicken and cheese! The torta was so delicious and savory. I would love to have many more tortas from here.“

“We ordered queso and queso/frijoles (cheese and cheese/beans) pupusas to go and loved them! They also came with a side of sauce and slaw. We ate all 11 we ordered. It helps if you know Spanish when ordering, but they made it happen with my “Spanglish” and they were ready by the time I got there after ordering on the phone.Great Salvadoran pupusas in 37211!“

“This is the kinda place you don’t wanna write a review for so that it stays under the radar, but I feel too much guilt not spreading the good word, and the word is GOOD.I have eaten here countless times, it is my all time favourite restaurant I’ve ever been to. If I could eat here, and only here, until I died, it would be pure heaven.Best tacos you can get outside of that one taco truck you know of in Mexico, or just the best tacos you’ll ever have. All while being unbelievably cheap.Their pupusas give me strength to go on, their tostada de ceviche gives me faith, and their tacos continually fill my spirit.Additionally, every staff member they’ve ever had has been so kind, helpful, and joyous. I have so many priceless memories with my best friends and family here, I genuinely hope it’s the last meal I ever have. Please, do yourself a favour and go as many times as possible before your body can carry you no further, because a stomach full of Las Americas will carry over into the great beyond?“

“Nashville, Tennessee has some great pupuserias and tonight I checked out La Esquina Pupuseria Salvadorana. Like most of the pupuserias that I have been in, this place is extremely humble and definitely offers little in the way of ambiance and atmosphere. There are a few tables and some cheap paintings and bric-a-brac hanging on the walls. Even my salt and pepper shaker were mismatched. But to me, this made me anticipate my dinner more. The process here is you place an order at the counter and when it is ready, they bring you your food. There was a bit of a language barrier, but the young lady taking my order was friendly and it was not really an issue. The menu was quite diverse and offered a nice selection of fillings for their pupusas. I opted to go with a mixed pupusa, a chorizo and cheese pupusa and a jalapeño and cheese pupusa. Then I noticed that they had tacos and impulsively ordered an asada taco. I chose a seat and before long, they brought me my feast and I have to say that it looked impressive. After my first bite, I decided not only did it look impressive, but it tasted even better than it looked. If you find yourself in Nashville, Tennessee, I would definitely recommend a visit here.“

“Delicias de El Salvador is nearby my studio, and I can’t resist going here at least 1x week for lunch. I’m actually not sure why I don’t go every day, the food is SO GOOD. I’m admittedly in a pupusa rut, and though I’ve tried them all, I keep coming back to the revuelta and frijol varieties. They serve them traditionally with a little liquid salsa and spicy slaw on the side. It’s like nothing else! My wife loves them too so sometimes I bring them home to go. Although this restaurant is a good opportunity to practice Spanish, they do speak English so no problem if you’re going in for the first time and don’t yet speak any Spanish. They serve it up pretty fast and always with a smile.“
