“Excellent soul food served with love! Darilyn and her family are amicable hosts, and the food is delicious! Heavenly Choices is my go-to for special events and catering featuring soul food. When I ran for public office in 2019, Heavenly Choices prepared meals for my campaign workers, and they loved it. Recently, I bought a sheet cake of Darilyn's German Butter Cake for a tour group from Rice University, and they loved it! My latest Sunday-after-church plate from Heavenly Choices included swai fish, okra, and blackeyed peas with a side of cornbread. I also bought a side of spaghetti and a warm slice of German Butter cake for my meal the following day. Suffice it to say, everything was delicious, even on the second day. “As a retired baker I have high expectations when I order treats and Brown Sugar do not disappoint. I asked for a themed cake and cookies for my daughter’s party, not only did everything look fantastic, they tasted great too. Everyone loved the treats, they were almost too pretty to eat……we will be fighting over the last piece of cake (If I don’t eat it at midnight) and the teenager has laid claim to the last few cookies. We are repeat customers and will continue to order goodies and pop in to the food truck for work and personal orders.“

“I love buying my dinners from Farmers. I used to buy dinners twice a week and cook the rest of the week but now I have to slack off a bit because they started putting some type of Louisiana spice or whatever type of spice in the food. Not everybody eats food with that type of spice so I guess they're catering to only one type of taste bud. Also, the cook has started over-salting everything, trying to kill us folk with high blood pressure. I'm trying to hang in there but I might have to totally quit because they're even putting Spice in the corn and I love corn and I can't eat that type of spice in my corn 🌽.“

“You ever been somewhere and it’s like your welcomed immediately even tho it’s your first time from the cashiers to the ladies in the back serving food everybody is welcoming and the service they give is nice but to have food like this breakfast lunch and dinner is crazy to be just 10$ meanwhile you goto a fast food spend 15 on a meal and you’re not even full for the rest of the day here this gone last you the whole day and keep you full“

“In town for business and stopped by for Sunday brunch solo. The live music was amazing, great atmosphere and the food was good. My waiter was busy behind the bar so not as attentive but since I was chilling it didn't matter much. The host at the door has excellent customer service so I will definitely return!“

“I ordered twice through their website, unfortunately they were out of the stuff to make some of what I wanted the first time. The guy there called me to let me know there was an issue and canceled my order for me so I could reorder. Great customer service. I ended up getting the fish & baked Mac as well as the chicken and waffle to eat the next day. The guy through in a container of what I think was Gumbo as a bonus for the issue. The fish and Mac was fantastic very filling, very tasty. I planned to eat the C&W the next day but wanted to try a bit of the Gumbo. I was full. I am not really a Gumbo fan. I ate the whole thing, which was decent amount, not quite a pint I think. It was amazing. Fyi guess what, I reheated the C&W the next day, and it too, was amazing. Great place, great customer service. Order on their website, verify their location on their insta, you won't be disappointed, even if they don't have what you wanted the first time. Good food doesn't need deserts anyway.“

“I recommend that they stop serving old hard fried chicken wings & large thighs w/all that fat on ToGo orders so when U drive all the way home you're stuck with a bad order. I bought 3 orders Fifth Ward Specials $36.60 & 1 Red Bean w/Rice + 1 Macaroni w/Cheese $6.69 which was not good at all. Tasted old & we don't live very close by but my church is near by & does a lot of business with Frenchy's but for me & mine we will not do business with Frenchy's. This was at your East Fwy. Store“

“We had the smothered steak with mashed potatoes and green beans, and the fried pork chop basket with waffle fries. We also got the peach cobbler. All three were excellent!The steak fell apart it was so tender, and the potatoes and gravy were delicious. Even the simple green beans tasted special with food like that!The fried pork chop basket came with two delicious, juicy, perfectly seasoned pork chops. I think those were the best pork chops I've eaten in years.The peach cobbler was so good. Brown sugar-y and cinnamon-y with tender peaches and crust... yum!I highly recommend this food truck. “When I say have mercy… have mercy… yes indeed this food is excellent and we did reg spice and enough for us because it’s so tasty. I did oxtails and shrimp and can get 3 servings out of my plate. My hubby did a pasta… are it all though. lol. My daughter did fried shrimp and can get 2 meals out of it. Try many dishes and share. They threw in some greens that taste like home. “My family is from New Orleans, after losing both parents and an older brother during the Holidays, I decided to cater from Ms Catherine rather than cook for myself. It was truly the best decision. Absolutely all of the Holiday meal was definitely like being back home. Everything was very good, and reasonably priced. I have returned for the fried ribs. GAME CHANGER!
